Moyes is a good punt. Interviewed .Has lower league pedigree, it’s where he made his name. Hudson wins at Luton..it’s his. With a familiar no 2. Next week puts us all out of the misery. Or not if we beat Luton.

So Town fans want someone that’s never managed above league one, Cowley, over a someone that’s managed successfully in the Premier League, recommended by Alex Ferguson to manage MANCHESTER UNITED Moyes? I find that astonishing I really do, if we could get Moyes it would be a fantastic appointment. We make ourselves look incredibly tinpot at times. What a load of crap. Cowley has a better CV than Wagner did. It's all about who is right for the job - not about who is the biggest name.

Awful at Man. U. Maybe, to be fair they'd been spoiled a bit. He had a 52.9% win record there. Yep fair enough, but he didn't win owt and was eventually hounded out by disgruntled Manure fans. Van Gaal also was pretty dire given the context. Mourinho much better and still got the sack! Didn't Ferguson recommend Jose for the job too? Great manager was SAF, but would've starved to death as a recruitment agent. How long before Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is driven out?

Why is Gio VB even an option in this poll?

And if Hudson DOES get the job on the back of a win away at Luton then we are in much deeper trouble than even the biggest merchants of doom could imagine! I have confidence that the current braintrust at HTAFC are not that stupid.

Reality check - this isn’t Manchester United, it’s a very different job We’re not talking about making one of the richest clubs in the world finish in the top 4 in England are we... We’re back to needing to do things differently, making the team better than the sum of its parts, having an identity, being tactically astute and overachieving The Cowleys have worked their way up on merit from managing Concord Rangers the 9th tier of English football in front of 50 people They won 3 promotions in 6 years to get to the conference south and even got them to the first round of the FA Cup Moved to Braintree, a part time club, and finished third in the conference - highest ever and took them to the fa Cup first round. Again first time ever At Lincoln, took a 13th placed conference team when they took over to be champions in their first season, the first mon league team to the quarter finals of the fa Cup, finished 7th in league 2 first year in the league, promoted again the following season, won the EFL Trophy, good start this season There are constant themes: success, progression and overachieving They have over 200 games experience at conference level / league 2 at the age of 40 and below So yes I think they’re a much better fit for us than Moyes If you haven’t watched the video I posted yesterday have a look and see what you think

Wagner didn’t have a football league win on his CV. Tomorrow is big one for Hudson. And his mate. Wagner managed Borussia Dortmund 11 for 4 years before he came over here. Hudson is a fledgling coach with no previous managing job. Tomorrow will be a big game in the sense he would like his first win, that is all.

With regard to that Cowley's video, it's a good channel that but pretty much everyone who's been on there seems very impressive since they're generally talking about a single match that's one of the high points of their careers, where everything went pretty much to plan. Even Ian Holloway has a good one but I'm not sure I'd fancy him turning up on the basis of it. The main takeaway from it was they wanted to exploit Burnley having two right footers on the left.. Sensible of course but not the most obscure notion in the world.
Having said that, out of the candidates that seem realistic they'd be my preferred choice: they're on the way up rather than the way down, have shown they can adapt to higher levels easily, upset the odds frequently, seem to be capable of playing nicer stuff than they're maybe credited for.
I voted van Bronckhorst since it was an option but that one's definitely in the 'not realistic' column!

I’m not saying they aren’t good coaches, I just wonder if they could handle some of the egos etc that our squad currently appear to have? Moyes has experience in this, and may be a better option at this moment in time.

i hostely think moyes is finished
dont care about his cv. he did an ok job over a decade ago, should never have been anywhere near man utd and has been a joke since. would be well down my list, especially given the wages he would be on. we need someone young with drive - doesnt have to be a rookie but someone looking up rather than passing the time/picking up a wage
not that i think there's anything in that rumour

It's crazy to see people have voted 60 times for Cowley and only 26 for Moyes!
That's Cowley, who's never managed above L1 before this season, and Moyes who kept Everton a mid table PL side for years whilst many teams around them had huge budgets in comparison and brought through some quality players in his time there.
I like the Cowley brothers and it's a fantastic story for them so far too, but to think some people would chose them over Moyes is ludicrous! Were Huddersfield Town ffs, if he's interested he should be our man.

Moyes is far from finished, disaster at Man Utd yes, but it was the same under two other world class managers there too. Can we also not forget one of the most successful managers of all time also recommended him for the job there. Personally I think were in dreamland if we even think he's coming here.

Solid job at PNE, excellent job at Everton for many years, slipped at ManU but so have his predecessors & then did the job he was hired to do at West Ham. To say he is finished is over the top. He’ll get a job in the Championship sooner rather than later.

And if we are going for a manager who at least in the short-term is being brought in to steady the ship, better Moyes than Rowett or Adkins.
