The only thing I disagree with is your last sentence. Substitute 22nd for 15th and it's bang on. Apart from one moment in the game, we were absolutely dreadful throughout. We’re not in the premier now though gents. This league is shite. I’ve yet to see one half decent team. I assume you missed the game at home to Fulham, then.

He can’t be staying. Teddy boy said he was gone straight after the match! He is gone.. Trust me Weird goings on at Stoke! I was convinced that he would be gone by noon on Wednesday. Then he takes the pre-match press conference today amidst reports Hughton had turned down the potential job. Sounds to me like he will be in charge on Saturday and the Stoke board will use the international break to sort a new manager. I can't see it happening any other way. There's a % of fans on The Oatcake Forum that want Tony Pulis back to sort out the mess... On a separate note - The Oatcake has got to be the best name for a football forum in the league. Brilliant.

Two teams very, very low on confidence but with some decent players, however Stoke had a lot of the ball (but that was always our game plan) and created virtually no chances of note. Town created 2 clear cut chances and scored 1 of them. I don't see this as an unjust result. Not that much more of the ball (52% v 48%). Created more chances but none on target. One goal to us was always going to be enough.

Please don't let this win paper over the huge cracks lads.

Cracks? Fulham home game? I was at the Fulham game and they beat us 2-1. Not 5-0. Yes we are far from competing shoreline and points wise but ask for bring absolutely turned over? I haven’t witnessed it yet. Maybe I’m pissed but we’ve spent nothing and in my opinion got the best young managers in in the country. They’ve already got two results from three games with only adding a freebie to a squad riddled with a losing mentally. Give them a season and who knows where we will be!!!! UTT

There is similarity between the Coates family and PH/ DH?Both clubs have a bad time and go for young successful lower division managers. It hasn’t worked out for Jones at all but he has been truly supported so far by the owners. Some on here were initially doubting the early work of the Cowley's but it’s amazing what one win can do.But both have been given massively underperforming, mostly overpaid squads and quite honestly where do you start? Its proved too much for Gary Rowett-fancied as a possible manager by a lot of town fans-and probably Jones.I truly feel the Cowleys will overcome the odds but nevertheless wish Chadderton and his other occasional guests on here well.

Would you take a Lincoln fan thinking you can easily finish 15th or higher based on that result? With The Cowleys you take a realistic view and every season in the 4 I have known of them they have surpassed realistic expectations by some way. I know some fans on here may not appreciate my input as an outsider, but I did say after West Brom that 10 points from the next 6 games was a perfectly reasonable target and with 4 points from the first 2 I have no reason to believe that opinion was wrong. It may have been a crap game, but Town won and I have to say they may win a few more crap games this season, however that has to be better than losing crap games

Yeah cos I'm a bit weird I've been following it a bit on local radio. I think he's gone. I think he knows he's gone. But he's a good man and they are good owners. There's a lot of regard between them and they need to sort themselves out before he goes. The whole of Stoke is certain he'll go. Even if he's still in charge against Swansea and they win. But what a good man he is. He fronted it up today and it was a bit bizarre

Was at Stoke on Tuesday, guest in corporate hospitality, poor game but who’s bothered a win is a win, not a single attempt on target from Stoke featuring nearly £50 millions worth of players. After the game I have never seen a group of supporters so quiet as Stoke, simply accepted they were going to get beat, however the name I was told as the next manager is Moyes.

I'm sure he would love to stay in the job. They all have big egos and feel they can turn stuff round. Why should he resign? But I'd be amazed if the end, the severance deal, the whole shebang hasn't already been sorted with the Coates family

Do me a fucking favour. We've won 2 out of the last 35 league games. 4 from 51 if you want to go back further. Is it any wonder I'm not getting giddy over a smash and grab win away at Stoke?

So you're agreeing with me then? No. I don't think he's in this for a payout. But he's not going to resign either Neil Harris for Stoke manager maybe? That is literally the exact reason he hasn't resigned. He wants the payout!
