Their inexperienced at the higher level has seen the Cowleys fail badly to do in more or less a full season what they were brought in to do, so where do you draw the line Sadly to many involved with the club over recent seasons seemed to have sucked it dry of funds , and sadly it is becoming alot clearer that most of the retained premier league players were vastly over rated and paid. Imagine the finacial impact of relegation ,and doubt very much any of todays players would want to take a drop in wages to play at div 1 level I have been following this wonderful club for far more years that most on here ,and have to say that i like many others have seen it all before. The players need to be taken back to basics on the training field , and bring in an experienced manager who knows what he is doing . The one thing the club needs to do is take far more care of any remaining incoming funds as we dont want to go back to the dark days of early 2000 If we get relegated suggy, which players are we talking about taking back to basics ?? I believe that any player fit to play first team professional football in any division has to already have the basics off by heart. What else have they been doing since they were 7 and in academies etc??? Town are in a struggle, we needed 10 outfield players whose ambition in the near future was to start next season playing in the championship for Huddersfield Town. We have players who still believe they are too good to be here and salvation will come with a good move shortly and we added loan players who in all good conscience are never coming here for good or on loan again.. Warnock and pulis together would not save this team. They will either save themselves or not, the manager nor the crowd can really help at this time. 18 months of managers has failed to produce enough graft, concentration and the obvious talent coming through very often. We require 3 maybe 4 big performances and some luck. If they really want it they can do it, whoever plays and wherever they play or whatever the game plan is. Sacking the Cowleys just lets off the under performers, the want away players and those showing incredibly unprofessional lack of care.

I'm not DC's biggest fan, but you can't judge him on such a small sample. His overall record is 41 points from 33 games, equivalent to 57 points in a full season, which isn't bad considering all the shit. The shocking start to the season, coupled with the recent 3 game slump coinciding with virtually every single result since lockdown going against us is the problem. He can't do anything about the latter but he has sure as hell has to turn this bad mini run round and very quick. It looks like it could come down to us or Hull. Their run in is pretty tough so that's a crumb of comfort. I've not advocated they be sacked, just speculating on what others might do..the Wigan game was pivotal though, a must win game which would have seen us joint 17th with Charlton...to turn in the performance we did, with practically the whole team looking out of sorts has to be down the management. The one bit of good news at the moment though is that we're not cut adrift (yet)...3 more points we'd be up 5 places, as I said. There's 7 clubs in danger of ending up in the bottom 3 and it could come down to goal difference unfortunately for us.I suspect we'll need 52 points to stay up.based on the current form of our rivals.. so that's 3 wins from 7...the 'easiest' of whcuh is Luton (H), who have gone 5 without defeat..!!.. A win at Birmingham is crucial, then the next 4 games are where we'd be looking to get enough points to be already safe, because I don't fancy us against WBA or Millwall... Agree - getting nil points from that game spoke volumes of our survival chances and may be the match (with hindsight) that sent us down

Do you think the club has the faintest idea of a plan? I’m angry enough with the club as it is. If they panic now and sack the Cowleys then the club truly will deserve all the ridicule and abuse it will get, and the last bit of faith and goodwill to Hodgkinson will be gone. At least from me. i cannot see it happening in any way even if we go down.i like you would see the club held to ridicule and its a difficult time why make it worse? pHILL AS A CHANCE TO NIP THIS REPORT IN THE BUD BY COMMENTING ON THIS SO CALLED INFORMATION. THE COWLEYS for me like any one have made mistakes but they have more than shown they are capable of restoring some vpride back as mistakes have been made before they came and indeed before phill arrived. The club is not toxic as some ill informed on here imply but I understand your anger but on the managers position I think we agree. yesterday we looked much better but its results that count however we get them

Even though this is just a rumour and the club have put it out there that it is nonsense, would anybody be surprised if it happened?
That tells us exactly where we are as a club. I've been critical of DC but he might be just the right man if we do drop another division.

All this sounds like nonesense only inkling that PH is slightly questioning the Cowleys was during the podcast after the Wigan game when he was asked, almost rhetorically if the Cowleys were the right people and he gave a slightly on the fence reponse. He also said he felt like he did after the lincoln game and after the Lincoln game he got shut of Siewart

Sacking the Cowleys just lets off the under performers, the want away players and those showing incredibly unprofessional lack of care. Clear to see that yesterdays dreadful defending and lack of shots on target in the game fell well below basics expected at this level. After following this club for as long as i have ,i came to the conclusion long ago that a manager " WHO EVER HE IS " is only as good as his results and this is afterall a results only business. It was also clear to see that so many of these players lacked similar passion seen by our wonderful fans ,.and also many clearly lack the skills required to play at championship level I could not see any kind of game plan yesterday or v Wigan , and it certainly didnt work if there was one. You are right regarding lack of luck ,but feel we also need far more that what was on offer especially in the last two games Just my thoughts whether right or wrong and sadly the club finds itself in a position where there certainly cant be no more room for error. Ask yourself a question ie are most of these players doing the job that they are being paid good money to do.

Essentially we would need a manager to get results instantly and in a 3 week period. There's only Warnock who could do that in my opinion so on that basis we might as well stick with it UNLESS the players have absolutely no respect for the Cowley's ala Siewert in which case we need to change now. Only insiders will know the feeling in the camp. Pulis?? 😉 I thought about him but he'd struggle as we don't have a defender worthy of the name at the club

All this is both speculation and nonsense - however
For the up coming season we will be asking the management team that nearly got is relegated.
To
take us through a preseason and strengthen the squad for 2020-2021

I have more faith in the Cowley's than I do in any of our players, who are all mentally weak. We've had multiple chances to pull away from the bottom three and every time that chance has presented itself the players have completely bottled that game. They can't handle the pressure, the negativity is engrained in them and has spread to the January signings like a pandemic. players have to stand up and be counted that is certain. once over that white line they have to take responsibility .if we go down and we certainly arnt at that stage with 21 points to play for it will be down to the players full stop

Let's be honest here, they inherited an absoulute shit show. I don't think they fully expected what they were walking into.
I dont blame the Cowleys we have no chance of staying up imo and we will be a top 10 side next year. Our players have no heart what so ever.

It's worse than that. FLW are quoting Football Insider. The Cowleys story was written by a guy called Wayne Veysey. A look back at his articles show he's a true churnalist - he bangs out about a dozen articles a day, three of which are about an impending managerial sacking. Why? Because shit like that gets the clicks. And their revenue model is entirely based on clicks. And then to make it worse, town fans begin to believe it and the club and Phil get slaughtered for it. We should be uniting together not pulling the club to pieces. Now is not the time. This post should end the thread

Dont think that says anything about where we are as a club, other than theyre having to respond to silly rumours. If we were to go down, and i dont think we will, then the Cowleys would be good managers to rebuild and take us back up again IMO.

We can't keep changing managers without giving them time to mould their own squad
I'm frustrated with Town overall but nearly all of my annoyance predates the Cowleys time - if we drop I'd stick with them and give them the opportunity to rebuild

Very true. Hate digging Schindler out, but his half hearted attempt to stop that cross coming in for the first was nothing to do with tactics or coaching.. just poor, half assed play. King misjudging the flight of the ball when it did come in, the same. Schindler again for the 2nd, giving Grabben way too much room to spin off and behind him. Just a player not focussed and not playing at all well. Id criticise Cowley for deciding to replace a centre back and choosing Stearman as the one to haul off though. Similarly with King and Hogg, and why he took Pritchard off is beyond me when he'd been our best player at that point IMO. Think Pritchard's face told its own story of what he thought about that.

I am as reasonable as they come and pretty measured but I can't disagree with what you say. It would be the ultimate confirmation that we are run by amateurs (and I sadly include DH in that) and utterly clueless. I think the Cowleys have been given a far worse hand than we realised and have done well to give us a chance of survival. Unless there is complete unrest behind the scenes, or some other back story (i.e. they are already planning to leave) I see absolutely no sense in getting rid of them now. I would have faith if they had the chance to build their own squad they would be successful. Let's hope this is idle speculation, although I am afraid to say nothing surprises me about our club these days. As for the fans the underlying culture of "they've had a great ride, they didn't really expect" needs eradicating. It's as patronising as it is pitiful. I'd presume sacking the Cowleys now would cost the club a couple of million. The Cowleys took some wooing and will have certainly ensured an early divorce would see them financially sound. But the money doesn't really matter, what matters is they are an outstanding management team. Mr Hodgkinson is to be praised for bringing them to the club. Huddersfield Town might go down this season but the Cowleys will leave the club in a far better state than they found it providing Mr Hodgkinson isn't foolish enough to show them the door. If there is unrest behind the scenes that is all the more reason to stand behind the Cowleys. They will be the men to clean out the stables and put a squad together to make Huddersfield supporters proud. This must be Mrs Cowley posting as I don’t think I have seen anything to give me a glimmer of hope that the two chuckle brothers can build a squad to make the fans proud. If you put things in perspective who would you rather have in charge for the last 7 games Mr Warnock or the Cowleys? I know who I would have and I don’t even like NW

Newsnow says they might get the sack before Birmingham game but the game is a do or die for them I wonder If it’s true and if we have someone lined up? How come you've not updated this thread? The same source you quoted this morning is now saying we aren't planning to part company with Cowley after an update from their "insider". Amazingly it turns out this original "story" was click bait bollocks.

The biggest fear already is clubs that know where they are playing next season can prepare.
Usual case for us, we have no idea so can't prepare so once again we will be a few weeks behind.
Won't make any signings until we know as I'm sure the target lists will be different. Decisions on out of contract players may depend on which league we are in.
Potentially a whole new squad with maybe 2 weeks to get to know eachother and gel.

There appears to be a lot of harshness here on the Cowleys, personally I do not blame them one bit, the damage has been done by the utter shite transfer policy the club have adopted in the last 2 seasons, this is Town just reverting to type.
