Desperately missing commitment and work rate?? I could mark Grant at the moment.. Hate to have to chase colin up and down, it might test my commitment?? Give me Quaner, kachunga and Campbell chasing the wendies defenders around before others waiting for the ball to come to them?? Need to forget what's gone on or is in the future and look at 3 games. If grant is dropped whose going to get the goals? If Grant is not dropped who is going to get the goals?

I've managed to rearrange a meeting at work, moved it to 19.30 so I can miss the game. Always thinking.

It's an interesting idea to convert to a 352... It's all about what players we have available for such a specific formation. Lossl Stearman Stankovic Schindler Bacuna Chalobah O'Brien ESR Toffolo Mounie Grant With the personnel we have, this is what I'd go for with Hogg unfortunate to miss out. Only issue is we'd be starting all four of our available CB's with another game in three days time. Fair point. Replace Chalobah with Hogg I guess...

I’d play Simpson at right back so Chalobah can add some energy to the midfield.

If grant is dropped whose going to get the goals? If Grant is not dropped who is going to get the goals? Him. As I put on another thread, we have 18 points all season when he hasn't scored or assisted. We are so unbelievably reliant on him it's untrue as we don't have any plan to get other players scoring seemingly. The issue is when everyone else is so little of a threat, the opposition can just shut him down and stop him coming inside. Then he's stuck on the wing totally wasted.

I’d play Simpson at right back so Chalobah can add some energy to the midfield. I’ll forget the first 6 words of that post. I’ve never rated Chalobah and I’ve been pretty vocal about that since day one and I still stand by it. Credit where it is due though, he has had a couple of decent games and I’ll hold my hands up. One of a small minority who come out of the last few games with credit. However, he seems to be doing ok at full back, in midfield he looks way out of his depth and I wouldn’t have him anywhere near.

I'd be tempted to go proper direct tonight. Start with Mounie and Campbell, drop Grant. Try and push their back line as far back as possible and instruct all players to try and hit Mounie early. Anyone who plays a back pass will get a Chinese burn.

Need this kind of performance tonight. Dangerous crosses finding players in the box & hitting the target. It's not fucking hard is it?

Putting the ball into the box would be a start, dangerous or not, enough players in there or not.. If you look back through our recent games, we got a few corners from relatively poor crosses, if we didnt put the ball in we overplayed backwards and sideways and got precisely nothing... Need to play more percentage balls rather than keeping it till we lose it?

Anyone who plays a back pass will get a Chinese burn. Agree with this - we need to try the more direct approach and Grant, despite his goals tally has not shown any threat recently. But as Cowley says on the club website today - “ success is not always achieved in a straight line” !

I’d play Simpson at right back so Chalobah can add some energy to the midfield. Simpson isn't at town anymore.

Agreed. He's looked better over the past couple of matches at right back, but he's still clearly out of his depth there. It's only the abject failure of the rest of his team mates that has shone the light on Chalobah being 'good'. He's very limited but at least he shows some energy - so does the duracell bunny, and he can't play football either
