Here's a thought: Agent rings player: "Huddersfield are interested" Player: (after how much) "Huddersfield, aren't they in all sorts of trouble" I am being a little tongue in cheek but I wonder if this is also a problem. People in the game, know what's going on in the game. It’s a worry, I have to be honest and say if I were being objective I wouldn’t advise any young player to touch us with a barge pole if other opportunities were available. I can’t see anything other than a start as bad or even worse than last season and this time it’s not the fault of the coach, it’s a squad that would struggle in league one. The only positive for me, and the jury is still out, is that Carlos might turn out to be a very good coach. Cant see anything other than a comfortable home win on Saturday. I just can’t believe the club finds itself in this position after what happened last season. We’ve somehow managed to have an even worse window than last year, unbelievable really and quite depressing.

It's just us then, relieved that the financial problems are not more widespread to be honest.. I'd suggest us going into huge debt and just ignoring it, try a few things and see how many points we get deducted? Always believed a sensible, affordable approach was best, given the current and possible future chaos it's more sensible than ever??

Ignore tweets from that account, it's the same virgin who said we were signing Charlie Austin a few days ago.

I just can’t believe the club finds itself in this position after what happened last season. We’ve somehow managed to have an even worse window than last year, unbelievable really and quite depressing. I think (very much hope)that the fans will give Carlos the benefit of any doubt. As for PH and his merry men let me say if, and never was that little word more appropriate, this comes right he can gloat and say "people told me I was doing the wrong thing, but I have proved them wrong" (let's face it that's what we will get if this does turn round - but if so then great, we are back looking up). However he is on the high wire now, he's out in the middle and if this fails and we are relegated (I say now staying up is success this season) then there will be plenty at both ends of that wire with their wire cutters out and be very happy to see him plummet. What really gets me is that after the complete and utter disaster that was Premier League season 2 that no one who can influence things can spot how bad things actually are. I posted it before; You watch these clubs plummet from the Premier League and turn into basket cases (I wonder who used to like telling us about basket case clubs??....hmmmm) and think "how has that been allowed to happen"? And here we are seeing it happen to us, and no one (in charge) seems to acknowledge the truly appalling position we are in, from relative strength. How long this continues is anyone's guess. I hope the next 10 days sees some footballing rabbits pulled from the hat. My heart tells me to be positive, my head tells me otherwise.

I don’t know if it’s just frustration but do people really believe that just because we haven’t signed anyone in a few days everyone at the club is just sat there in the boardroom without a plan, playing tetris or something?
And also, this is the same people that slates the club for signing shit players in the past, have patience and we might sign the next Grant’s and Toffolo’s rather than the next Herbert Bockhorn.

The problem is the silence from the club is deafening. We have no sponsor, we have no strikers and we are a fair few players down on where we were last year when we barely survived. Yet we have had absolutely nothing from the club in way of interaction. I don't doubt the club have a list of targets but they won't sit around and wait forever.

That will be Charlton using the Karlan Grant cash then?? Charlton can afford him with their 20% of the Grant fee. Town can’t with their 80% (or something like that).

You do make a fair point but there's no sense of urgency, no sense of realism, no communication, no acceptance of past mistakes. That's why people are concerned.

While it's "their" club and they can do what they want, the absolute shit show of the last 24+ months is fresh in the memory and has left fans inpatient and frustrated, with no communication or anything to even acknowledge the problem, provide solutions or assure us they're doing everything in their power to ensure the spiral won't continue. As I say, they can do what they want, but with the way the majority of fans are feeling, it's a bold and risky strategy. It wasn't too long past that the club, the Chairman and the fans had such a close knit bond with open communication and forums, it feels an eternity ago now.

DRAMA QUEENS UNITED SHOULD SIGN UP SOME ON HERE.

Hearing that Grant is down at WBA having medical today. No truth in Lee Gregory rumour. Have enquired about Rhodes but price too high.
3 midfielders we are linked at getting is Garner, a number a 10 and a winger (only know Garner name but should be announced soon)
Only what i have been told so don't hate

Last year we signed Reece Brown, Koroma, Bockhorn, Elphik and spent £8m on Mbenza.
Do people genuinely believe the signings of Ward, Pereira, Sarr and Pipa represent a "worse window" than that group, with a month of the window still to run?
