I cannot believe we have not had any incoming forward options this week considering we: - don't have a striker - our expected goals is woeful - we have effectively placed our top striker on gardening leave - Danny Ward is injured - we create no chances in a game It's a shambles what you doing pal You can't say things like that on a football forum.. Yellow card for you on the way Amazed you can type with that chip on your shoulder... Let it go, Loui

With all due respect to Campbell and Ward they will probably play the combined total of around 25 games this season, at best. We need to buy/loan 2 strikers. ASAP. desperate times

Bless them. We have some naive people on here who swallow everything they’re told. You can tell how few have ever been involved in a negotiation. Presumably you’d have preferred Carlos to reveal his cards. Tell everyone we’re desperate for strikers so they can put the price up and reel us in when we come knocking.

Decent source here. Would be a right result if we could get rid with some time to spare in the window.

Let's be positive, didn't Maynard say a striker was on his way? Until we know who it is let's stay calm haha

The Kongolo thing might happen pretty quick as fulham always seem to have seemingly limitless amounts of cash on hand. West Brom though appear to be struggling to rub those upfront pennies together.

Apparently WBA are looking at a Villa striker. t.co/dmVpcWi9IOWonder if this means they’ve given up on Grant

As much as I rate Kongolo, moving him on would certainly reduce the pressure on us to shift Grant at a lower price and increase our bargaining power with WBA. It may well get the ball rolling on incomings also, if money is indeed the hold up.

Carlos saying the idea was to have Ward and Campbell as our strikers This better be a wind up. Either that or our new manager is fucking insane.

Carlos saying the idea was to have Ward and Campbell as our strikers This better be a wind up. Either that or our new manager is fucking insane. The last one had Mounie and Campbell as strikers. Ward scored one less goal than Mounie with 2/3 of the minutes last season at Cardiff. What we need a replacement for Grant on the left who can score goals, plus goals from elsewhere in the team. PS: I'd replace Campbell with a younger player if possible.

He's hardly going to say the plan also includes a striker from another club that we will be signing is he! I'm pretty sure that once Grant is gone and possibly Kongolo as well then things will fall into place but we aren't likely to splash any cash until we have that money in the bank, we could also be waiting on other clubs getting players in before they release players too but CC can't go on record saying the plan was for Ward, Campbell and 'Cauley Woodrow' for instance

With an appalling record. On loan.

Thats an absolute joke To have camble and ward as the strikers for this season tells us everything we need to know about big fat Phils ambitious plans.. They won't get 10 goals between them this season and apart from being crap.. They are both always injured.. Doomed to finish bottom. Crikey I agree a proper chest w@nker

You’re being generous I think a few are remembering Willock’s excellent 30 minutes of brilliance v West Brom (he was unplayable) ...when he had a point to prove rather than the lazy / non existent / couldn’t find a pass majority of his performances

Carlos saying the idea was to have Ward and Campbell as our strikers More like Phil saying you've only got Danny Ward and campbell to work with 😂😂 On a serious note I expect to see a striker come in

Carlos saying the idea was to have Ward and Campbell as our strikers The dreaded words The idea... not ‘my’ idea The actual quote he said 'we': “At the beginning of the season we had the idea to have Danny Ward and Fraizer Campbell as our strikers. “Now from the last week Fraizer Campbell has come back to the group and starting training. He’s completed one consecutive week training with the group and that’s positive." As pointed out above, essentially we've gone from Mounie and Campbell to Ward and Campbell. Ward having a better goals to minutes ratio than Mounie but a worse injury record. We definitely need another striker and from what Maynard has said, we are close to getting one.

Thanks - where’s this quote from? I’d read the Examiner “Unfortunately we are not going to have Danny Ward in the squad. He has felt something in his hamstring and that means he won't travel with the squad tomorrow. We don't know how long he'll be out. We need to do another scan but he's definitely going to miss the next game. We will have to see how long it will take. It's never positive news to lose a player but we have to allow for these scenarios as injuries can happen. We need to find a solution like we did in the last game. We don't want to make [transfer] decisions because of an injury. We will keep analysing the possibilities in the market and see if anyone can help us as a squad. THE IDEA was to have Danny Ward and Fraizer Campbell as our strikers. Campbell has been in training for a week now, which is good. We will analyse every player we have first to see who can fill this gap. Having Fraizer Campbell is positive news for us. We couldn't work with him at the beginning [because of his injury].“
