Good news if true. Will just pop over to the new sub board to see if there are any updates on there too. EDIT: There is! This new way of doing things is working like a charm! You'll have the Luddites on your tail with such subversive and progressive views

Is he any good? I know Ajax sounds very sexy an all but can he play? Monaco sounds sexy but look how that turned out.

Is he any good? I know Ajax sounds very sexy an all but can he play? No he’s a donkey. FFS just Google a bit or read earlier comments here and you might learn summat 🙄 No doubt you’re one of the clowns who thought Mbenza was a great signing. I’ll judge him when i see him, until then i’m happy to hear from anyone who’s actually seen him or at least aware of him. Rather than just assume he’s a player cause he’s from a big club, that would be dumb. I like the little i’ve heard but i also haven’t read any Ajax fan upset he’s leaving for a year.

Hopefully he can at least improve our woeful free-kicks and corners.

Gorre was amazing in flashes, but oft injured and had no engine. The late career Kenny Irons was more valuable than Gorre under Bruce. I'd take a player in that mold any day of the week.

Translated from Dutch by Carel Eiting in the Championship feels a bit like the professor of applied physics is going to spend a year working in the coal mines. #Ajax#Eiting#Huddersfield

Better than Gorre I heard Is he fuck. The first ‘cultured’ footballer I saw in the flesh. As a young kid who watched Town every weekend, he was different gravy. Easily one of the best players in the league on his day. Eitling has some big boots to fill if he’s gonna beat Gorre and Mooy. EDIT: This is just beautiful. In good company here too with Zenden, De Boer, Dani and Co.

On one hand, I was watching Town home and away at that point. On the other, I was mostly doing it pissed. But I largely remember Gorre as a bloke that ran around in circles, with the occasional step over. Will we venerate VLP in the same way once a couple of decades of time and ale have done enough to soften the memories?

Gorre's misplayed pass could've ended up anywhere...

I remember him being pretty amazing but I was fairly young and impressionable at the time. On a side note, surely Suriname could have been an International footballing giant in the early 2000s if they all hadn't chosen to play for the Netherlands?

Gorre's misplayed pass could've ended up anywhere... Misplaced? Played for it. And Gorré would have chipped it. With his weaker left foot... (Don’t ruin my childhood).

Haha... similar to what Iffy has said above, I went home and away around that time and Gorre was a great player, but a bit of a luxury. Kenny Irons was THE man in that team. Best Town midfielder I've seen after Mooy.

Gorre is a nice bloke. I used to go to the Waitrose near the Man Utd Carrington training ground and bumped into him (literally), I think his son was in the academy there. Nicer than the young Italian lad they had who would waltz around with a model whilst his (I assume) parents walked behind him doing his shopping for him!

From what i’ve read we’ve also got an option to buy at the end of the loan.
If true maybe Ajax don’t rate him too highly but makes it an even more exciting signing if true.

So there's a chance he's not as good as his reputation suggests, but we get to pay good money for him if that's the case? #exciting Yikes.
