Straight to Deano's coffers so he can have another gold tap installed, it would be laughable if it weren't so tragic. Deano did good for Town but in all honesty I'm a Town fan first and foremost and he's totally fucked up his legacy at Town, any goodwill he had with the fans has mostly evaporated now. Dean won't see any of it either! I think we just have to accept that from the moment after we stayed up at Chelsea, until the moment just before Stewart was sacked, almost every decision that was made ended up being the wrong one - with a few exceptions such as Grant. We ended up 'blowing our brains out' financially and this season we're still paying for it and the pandemic isn't helping. If we can get to the end of this season without getting relegated and bringing a few of the youngsters into the squad we'll be in a much better position than we've ever been. I'm more a 'happy clapper' than 'moaning fucker', but generally a realist. The club 'fucked it up' in the PL, but it can't be undone. Hopefully if we ever get there again we'll have learnt the lessons. Plus, especially for the 'Potless2' poster and friends - nobody is making money out of Town! Dean Hoyle MAY get most of the cash he invested back - without any interest! He certainly hadn't had anything for the time he put in, or the time he and his wife put into the Foundation. PH is certainly getting nothing out of the club, except for a load of abuse from a number of so called supporters. Nobody buying into a football club should expect to make money or even get most of their money back, never mind interest. Time and effort doesn't come into it either, you know what you are getting into. That isn't a dig at Hoyle btw, just the plain facts. As for how the actual perceived deal between Hoyle and PH was constructed......do I like it ? Do I fuck. BUT, at least like you, most of us know that it has been done with the clubs best interest at heart with lessons learnt. I'm sure even Potless2 will acknowledge that

Karlan Grant won't get 10 goals in premiership 16 million west brom getting robbed and what will we pay for a replacement striker? I beginning to think Hodgkinson is like Boris totally clueless less than 2weeks to new season and we got a possibly dodgy keeper an Ward in not very inspiring is it? Grant wont get 10 in the Championship...one trick pony. We'll see. If he plays in an attack minded team, with other players who present a goal threat, he might s.core c10 from open play. There's no doubt that he would benefit from working on broadening his game; playing in Town's constipated attack in the last season and a half won't have helped this.

Because he sold it to Phil who doesn't seem able to fund the club to the required level. The difference between the two seems to be that Hoyle had the money to aid cashflow for all these deals that are spread over multiple years but Phil hasn't the resources to do this. Hoyle had the money? He bought a league one club who had been in league two more recently than the championship lets not over egg this. Phil has taken on a club which is stuck with average players on Premier League wages its two completely different transactions. Hoyle was wise sign Rhodes for a million sell for 8, reinvest in Butterfield etc for 500k sell for 5 million. I'm not suggesting Phil is loaded by any stretch but to me he's no more potless than Hoyle was. Remember when we first went up Hoyle put £30m into the club to cover cashflow when we had to do all the upgrades that is the investment I'm talking about. You mention that £5m for Butterfield well that would be over 2/3 years and under Phil as he seems to lack the resources he wouldn't be able to let us spend that £5m straight away. Look at the Billing money, did we re-invest that over one season or is it just inline with the payments we get each season? That appears to be the difference.

Surely Dean should pay have paid the price for ‘fucking it up’ in the PL and and deserves criticism for selling to a guy who clearly doesn’t have the means to take us forward. I’m yet to hear a good argument as to why Phil was the best buyer for the club rather than the best buyer for Dean Hoyle. Let’s face it Dean threw his toys out of the pram - possibly didn’t like the negativity in the second premier league season. He knew Phil would agree a deal on the best terms for him. Phil’s ego meant he jumped at the opportunity despite it really being a shit deal and having no real means to run a championship club (as has been evidenced to date). The posters are right that we have a one way ticket to league one with Phil in charge Was it a shit deal? How much of his own money did he put in on top of agreeing to pay Dean out of the club's parachute payments? I think it was probably a very cushy deal for both parties. I think its become a worse deal now though because he's now realised the assets he thought the club had were actually liabilities, he should have asked me at the time I could have told him. We're just lucky Dean protected the club from those nasty foreign owners eh.

Hope WBA come back with an improved offer. Grant was bad enough after January, imagine how he'll be if he's sulking that he hasn't got his move again Can’t argue with that but where are the goals going to come from? We already have 3 centre forwards (i saw Campbell and Mounie training on their own today) we won’t be another. Mounie and Ward both score more goals per minute than Grant. Need to chill out and wait for the actual football to start, not long now.

Is that where you blame somebody electronically? Yep it’s what keyboard warriors do. I’ve always thought the word keyboard warrior was funny I know and have worked with someone on this forum who was accused of being a keyboard warrior a while back , he didn’t react on here to the comment but it was comical as he’s an absolute machine he’s worked in the forces in extreme conditions and probably most fellow friends would class him as an elite human being , thought it quite funny someone on here was calling him a keyboard warrior and quite aggressively.

Whats the specific evidence that supports this common viewpoint? Are bills and players not being paid?? Or is it mostly that you/we got spoiled by the headlines about splashing £10m on crappy players and just want to see more of that and then we'll be happy???

I find it funny how many people ar eblaming Dean for everything financially. Yes he's due to get £15m this year. As a club we are due to get around £35m (which has already been brought forward as a bank loan). We got £42m last year. If Karlan goes that's another £16m and we got around £25m in in transfers last year. That's around £130m in in 2 years. Wage bill of £22m last year before anyone left and we haven't spent anything on transfers this year and 10m last year on Mbenza. So with a net £100m, how is Dean taking £15m back the reason everything is so screwed? I realise transfers are spread over time but that doesn't make sense. I can’t believe your asking this question. DH went out of his way to place PH in his place and told us all it’s in safe hands, the deal was geared to get DH everything he wanted not to get the club in the best position possible. Hope I’m wrong, won’t stop watching town ever so this predicament isn’t a positive for me, time will tell. If you want to talk about who he sold the club to and the reasons why then I'm mainly in agreement. But I'd also say that in any deal that would have been a demand. But to say the £16m is going straight to Dean's back pocket is total bollocks. That doesn't add up with the numbers, no matter how many times Phil tries to over-exaggerate how much we had to repay to him. If Grant leaves for 16m then we'll have taken over £30m net from transfers in the 2 seasons. We initially owe Dean £35m, roughly the same amount. So then we also have parachute payment income, all 90m of it or whatever it is. Paying him back is not screwing us.

Funnily enough I renewed yesterday, I figured it’s close to “ok” value to get to hopefully about 10 home games, & watch the rest plus non weekend away games on iFollow. I 100% definitely was NOT going to renew whilst the Cowleys were still expecting to deliver their own basic brand of lowest common denominator football that seemed to work up to League 2 but not really any higher.

The other half or so will be reduced slightly.

It's usually a vanity project. You don't buy a football club unless you're happy to lose an absolute fortune. Doesn't really matter if you have a fan in charge, they can only do the best they can and are always limited by their personal wealth, especially at champ level. There's good and bad, I dont think you can say a fan will always be a safe pair of hands and you cant say that a foreign investor wont be. What is a problem is if the owner cant afford the club or their circumstances change dramatically as we saw with Rubery. Sad state of affairs really but clubs these days need a benefactor to be successful.

Deano still owns 25% of the club and has the means to assist run things sensibly and sustainably. Unless he reads the shit on here and thinks. 'Fuck it' these idiots don't deserve support, I will walk away.
