Fear not ladies and gentlemen. Just noticed that Frazier Campbell is "Mr February" on this years players calendar. Maybe it's a sign. Or something.

Very disappointing and quite amateurish again scrambling for a striker last minute. Good to get shut of diakhaby though however bromby and the recruitment team do worry me.
Just out of curiosity who is out of contract this season?

Exactly how I see it as well mate. That’s why personally I can’t fathom the uproar for this window, the striker situation is disappointing but we have brought players in and have had a serious injury crisis. We should be good enough to stay up, before Christmas they were posters suggesting top 6 and that was with the same strikers as we do have now. Yes, Koroma has been a big miss but it’s an unfortunate injury. In summer for me is where my judgement will lie in the recruitment team and the board, big wages off the club and a chance to have a full summer identifying, meticulously planning and bringing in players that will have an impact and fit into CC’s identity. The full pre season will also do the squad a world of good in adapting to the intense training methods that CC demands. I’ve seen enough that we will stay up, we are a decent team on our day and with some key players returning from injury at some point, we should be fine. Then fingers crossed look rosier next season. I accept the injury crisis as a valid excuse - up to a point. Our inability to play a settled defence has hampered us a lot - but in terms of up front we've been incredibly lucky so far that Campbell has only missed 1 league game (iirc - Bournemouth). I know Ward has been injured but that wasn't unforeseeable even in the summer and even if he'd been fit - he's a squad filler at best in this division. The need for a striker seemed clear from the moment Mounie left in September and has been confirmed over half a season as we watch Campbell busting a gut to try & do the job all by himself - yet we're scrabbling around on deadline day trying to bring in any one of half a dozen strikers. If we'd got one over the line at 10:59pm last night, all would have been forgotten but the fact is - this is not a problem that was sprung on the club at the last minute. It's something that we could and should have prepared for. You appear to have omitted the absence of our leading scorer, as a cause of most of our issues.

I'm sorry guys. I genuinely expected one of the deals over the line last night. Personally I’m not surprised. Just more of the same from PH. People will start to wake up sooner or later, A lot of people I know already have including me and will not be renewing their SC. Final straw for me, I’ve been watching town since the 80’s and a season ticket holder since 95. I’ve tried to stay positive over the last few years and it’s been difficult at times but PH has shown on several occasions that he is a penny pinching asset stripper backed by DH. A bit convenient that DH sold to PH to asset strip whist still being a share holder. Takes the focus from him in my opinion. Anyway, I wish the club all the best “but I’m out” !! Added note, you have nothing to apologise for, I’ve always looked out for your posts as at least I know I can trust what you tell us. Unlike PH who most fan’s have lost trust in. The level of self entitlement for a so called supporter is staggering, “I’ve tried to stay positive over the last few years” , first time in 50 years since we were in the top league and this poor soul is trying to stay positive. I’ve being supporting since 1964 and I know what trying to stay positive is, along with lots of other long suffering supporters on here. Please don’t let the door bang your arse on the way out , Mr Drama Queen.

Oh, absolutely, Koroma's injury has hurt us badly going forward as well. I don't dispute that for a second. Hogg's injury has hurt us too, as (albeit to a lesser extent) has Eiting's. I'd also add in the caveat that the rest of the XI need to be able to make more (in terms of goal threat) of the work Campbell puts in. I'm specifically referring though to the situation at centre forward, and that problem seemed obvious from the moment we knew Mounie was leaving and (unlike the unexpected improvements in Koroma & Mbenza) I've seen nothing yet to change my mind. I'm a big fan of Campbell, but he should be a useful squad player, not a shoo-in for every game.

Please continue to give your hard earned to a millionaire asset stripper. PH is not asset stripping, he is repaying the loans made to the club by DH, if anyone is to blame for the clubs financial situation its a) DH for demanding the repayment of loans he made to the club over the last ten years, when he was subsidising the club, not you with your reduced price season tickets. b) DH for overseeing a recruitment drive which landed the club with some of the highest paid and underperforming players this club has ever seen. Therefore your castigation of PH and his role in the current running of the club is totally incorrect, in fact he should be thanked for trying to ensure that the club is still here and will hopefully be next season, doesn’t blaming DH for this situation fit your agenda ?

Now that the dust is beginning to settle and I’ve taken stock, not the worst window ever. Hoggy signing a new deal and getting shut of Diakhaby at the 11th hour definitely the highlights but a new keeper was needed (remains to be seen how good he is though) and the resigning of Holmes boosts our attacking options. However, I just hope the failure to bring in a striker and the expectant goals he would have provided don’t return to bite us on the arse. The way we pissed about with just 2/3 days of the window remaining trying to bring a striker in smacked of desperation when we knew pretty much all January what was required. The club say Walsall were playing silly buggers which is why we pulled out of one deal and can only think the deal with the lad from Ipswich could only be done once we’d (surprisingly!) offloaded Diakhaby which came too late in the day. If we are relegated because of a direct lack of goals, it won’t be pretty on here.

Maybe there wasn’t a striker out there available that Ticked all of Carlos’s boxes so they then started looking at short term availability ( end of season) that ticked most of them. I personally prefer no striker to signing someone that might do a job after about a month of getting up to speed by that time Josh should be back . Save the funds and get a striker that ticks all his boxes in summer .

The striker issue has been going on since the Summer though - it’s the one thing I have an issue with personally and I think undoubtedly they should have taken action to sort this out, especially with the ongoing injury situation with Ward. Maybe we’ll get away with it but there’s a hell of a load to carry on Campbell’s shoulders at the moment.

remind me, how long is koroma out for ? Until March the last I heard? It's a long time to wait for our only real goalscorer. 6 more games to play in february, we could well be in the panic zone after that ....and the trouble then is tension in the camp, which means more errors usually...We simply can't allow ourselves to continue to be dragged underwater like we are doing...

Even if he comes back mid-March it'll probably be April before he's match fit. Somebody needs to step up with the goals because we're far too error prone at the back to keep clean sheets on a regular basis.

Diakhaby leaves having played 60 games for us as a winger, AM, ST and didn't score a single goal. Not a single one. It's hard to think of a worse player. Fairly average scoring record for a forward at Town recently 😁 You sarcastic swine!
