I'm trying to circumvent Google here!
Players who played professional cricket... and played for Huddersfield Town. I can think of two, but I think there may be more.

What did Town achieve in 1982/83 season that they have not achieved in any other league season? One thing I remember about that season that I think people thought was a bit unique was that when we beat Newport, we automatically promoted all 3 teams; Newport being 4th at the time & therefore unable to catch up. Yes - very interesting. Wonder how often that happens?

I've come up with a question so cunning, that the most fox like cunning folk on here can google all they want and the answer will not be revealed. It's so good I might put a post on its own merit on here. Are you ready, come on!
Inclusive of the English leagues down to and including the National League, and the Scottish leagues down to league 2 - there are 7 teams whose every letter in their name appears in the name of our glorious club - "Huddersfield Town".
So, there you go, no googling, won't help you. No AFC prefixes, AFC at the end, just proper recognised football club names in full, I think I have got this right, stand to be corrected!

Ok - try this one. What premier league scoring record does Les Ferdinand hold.
Hint: though not all in the prem, I believe Andy Booth’s scoring followed a similar pattern.

Not sure you are correct - I think I’ve been suckered by a fictional question. There are at least 7 without even considering the Scottish leagues.

As I said, I stand to be corrected. I have edited the original post, I went back and re-checked. I had missed one, so it's 7 in total from those leagues in England & Scotland.

Edinburgh is way further west than most people seem to realise - it’s certainly further west than Carlisle Liverpool and Bristol - probably similar in westerliness(?) to somewhere like Exeter. Think your geography has gone a bit wonky, Edinburgh sits on the southern bank of the Firth of Forth, the land mass starts to thin at this point, this stretch is referred to the central belt but I would certainly say in terms of Scottish geography it's certainly on the eastern coast of Scotland. To suggest its further west than Liverpool and Bristol is, quite frankly, bonkers, buy yourself a new atlas. Get yourself a globe Art, Britain isn't straight up like it is in an atlas. Edinburgh is 3.189°W, Cardiff is 3.11°, Liverpool is 2.59°W and Bristol 2.35°W Edit - Oops, serves me right for not going through the thread to see others had already posted this 😄

I remember bumping into some Newport fans about 4 years later in a firkin pub in the elephant n Castle, London. We were all hammered on the leadboiler. We were still in the championship as it is now . They were in about the ninth tier of British football , Newport County having gone bust and reformed as Newport Town or whatever . That game at Leeds Road had a massive impact on them. I've had a soft spot for them since that game cos I seem to remember their fans stopped to applaud Town off after the game even though we'd just ruined their season

I'm not sure how many teams or their supporters get a tip of the hat and a thank you from famous rockstars but here's one: On Whitesnake's live album from 1980 "Live...in the Heart of the City" David Coverdale and the band say thank you to BARNSTONEWORTH UTD supporters everywhere in amongst the liner notes. A Yorkshireman lauding a Yorkshire club!
