On the price increase, they were dammed if they did and dammed if they didn't. They need to increase income and they've already committed to a 3 year price freeze for some supporters.
Let's be honest here, the season ticket prices have been ridiculously low for a while. I understand why and with the PL income it's reasonable to keep it fairly low. However, if you accept the '£20 is plenty' as a ballpark for pay on the day costs, then a season ticket should be priced somewhere between £350 and £400. Even those prices would be low for the Championship.
I get that some people won't be able to afford a season ticket, but that's probably the same whether its £249 or £299. I think this season's results will put people off more than the prices will.

Just for perspective - an adult ST at Crawley Town in the main stand was £400 for this season, rising to £440 after the early bird offer. Town fans have been spoiled by the ST prices for a few years now. The club will be aware of the risks of increasing prices, but, hey, they’ve got to fund Jordan Rhodes’ salary somehow! I’m assuming walk-up prices may also rise slightly, but so be it. Coventry are £299 next season. So what we have is probably about right for the stature of club that we have become. (although you have to pay £210 for a membership at Cov, and then the season ticket is £89 - think this is to do with getting funds in).

This means if you want to see the ambition of the club you are looking to be paying an extra £80 and also what is the point of the Senior band when it is the same price Matchday prices are a fiver cheaper for seniors (£20 as opposed to £25) Just be aware they have moved the age of seniors, though, Current seniors may not be seniors under the new bands.

Hmmmm. About what expected, seems a weired marketing concept from the club.... Keep it cheap for those that bought through the pandemic and would buy one anyway and then charge the ones who are more concerned with value for money and more sat on the fence an extra 50 quid. It's a poorly thought out own goal, The ones that bought a season ticket and didn't see a game are still likely to be £100 worse off over the next 3 seasons, so it's hardly fair on them, the ones that need tempting back have been given a take it or leave it price of £300..... which will be too rich for the majority sat on the fence. If I get one this year and the football is drab infront of 12500 fans, then I definitely won't be renewing the year after. 22000 fans and I'd probably renew whatever. Fans generate more fans in my eyes. Maybe £300 vouchers for the club shop would have been a better offer for those renewing last year. Then have everyone at 250. One club, all in it together, unless you couldn't afford the gesture of paying not to see football and then your an outcast. Maybe it’s because it’s Monday but I just don’t get your comment about those that bought a season ticket and didn’t see a game are still likely to be £100 worse off over the next 3 seasons? And as for your suggestion of a £300 voucher instead, I’d struggle to spend that in my lifetime never mind in a couple of visits. There’s only so much space in ones wardrobe for unworn football shirts 😛

You will know which league we are playing in so no excuse not to renew before the end of June.An extra £50 seems fair. They had to increase a little so that it was worth it for this years season ticket holders and £300 is still very cheap compared to pretty much all other championship clubs. You will know what league we are in but not the calibre of the squad rebuild. If you want to guarantee your old seat you have to renew by the end of June - this appears to me to indicate we are signing shite, or, at best, not going to be spending any money. Why not guarantee your seat til the day before the season? I share your concern. I’m planning to delay renewing until 30th June - something may happen between now and then to persuade me either way.

Whats ridiculous is I can get a season ticket for £249, and pay that in August when I've seen pre-season and what kind of squad we might have...but someone who has had one for 25 consecutive years but who refunded or didn't buy this season, perhaps because their finances were compromised as a result of losing a job or being furloughed on 80%, now have to pay £80 *more* than me for the exact same product. Most other subscription based services (which is what football is) offer cash discounts to entice people in. They're not paying £80, they're paying £50. Even at £299, it's by far one of the cheapest ST's across all four divisions If they pay in August, when I would, they would be paying £80 more than me. That its "one of the cheapest ST's across all 4 divisions" is irrelevant, I don't care about other clubs, what I care about is Town fans - and as Town fans, we should all be treated the same. "All Together Town"...."Terriers Together". "We aim to unite fans, players and staff and redefine what teamwork is all about" "It’s in our hearts to ‘do the right thing’ by our supporters "To be a true family and community club"Charging one person more than another for the same product doesn't seem to be very uniting. Yes, I know the club has always done this, and other clubs do it, but I think its inherently wrong.

You can blame sexual equality for that. When women retired at 60 they dropped the seniors age to match. Now that women's retirement age is aligned with men's they've adjusted the seniors age again As current season ticket holder though, I'll be happily paying £249 for the next three seasons.

Credit when credit is due, got it spot on for me. Even if you didn’t get any renewal/ early bird price I think they’re very reasonably well priced.
Everything opening up + that video has got me wanting to be back now.

I don't care one bit whether we're cheaper, similar or more expensive than other clubs of this level, the EPL or Golcar United, and I find the whole, "well X club are more expensive, so ours are cheap" discussion a bit ridiculous. I do care about one Town fan being charged more than another for the same product.

Sensible to introduce an U23 bracket
Thought the video was very good - and a good idea. Perhaps slightly ruined by going from Hefele to showing one of our most pointless signings within 30 seconds & reminding us how far we’ve fallen but aside from that
They’ve misjudged 1. Disconnect with fans at those prices 2. Economic impact on fans. They had an opportunity to reduce prices, try regain that lost connection but have chose not to. I understand a difficult balance
Unemployment will increase hugely as furlough ends / business go bust - you’re going to have people with loads of cash having not had anything to spend it on v lots already struggled for 12 months at no / lower wage & higher unemployment to follow.

We see too much of discounts being offered to new customers whilst those who are loyal clients get shafted (e.g. car insurance renewal of £452 when I can get exactly the same cover as a new customer for £274).

So being in the senior bracket and did not get a season card last season (first time in over 45 years) but now having to pay a extra £50. I have a decision to make I guess, but paying the same as a working adult seems a bit offside to me!

For all those maoning about the renewal prices, in the 2015/6 pre-Wagner days the cost ranged from £295 to £560 for adults. Since then we've had some fantastic prices, so I can't see how anybody can moan at the current rates, unless moaning is your default setting.

For me the more the merrier
I’m still not convinced that boris and his cronies will let us in starting in Aug.
Having paid for 3 tickets at the cost of £650 this season and missing 4 home games from the season before that’s 81 games I’ve paid for and not been allowed in.
I’ll be waiting until the very last minute before I decide to renew ( if at all).

Sunderland are in a similar position to us with not knowing which division they'll be in next season.
They have released their 'early bird' prices at £340-£440 for adults.

Love that - although the clips at the end spoil it a bit, however iconic the individual moments were...but I guess it had to go somewhere. Who is Matt Roberts, he has a good voice - reminds me of someone off the telly??

Can't they just put honesty boxes by the exit gates and if it's been a decent game then you bung £20 in, however if it's yet another pile of crap like Saturday you just keep your hands in your pockets? If they paid the players on a similar basis they might get a few more decent performances out of the idle tw@ts.

It’s ok I get it now 😊 Ben, Can you explain it for me then please fella The only way I can get near to £100 is by comparing 4 times £249 against 3 times £299 ......but that is comparing four seasons to three ( not the next 3 seasons) and as has been pointed out we got Ifollow access this year (which has to have a value).
