The deal could have stalled because he has no long term injury problems.

Every the optimist I predict our mustachioed star summer signing Danny "Big Boy" Ward will make a 25mins cameo appearance and score 3 ...... You have to be the most tedious, boring poster on DATM. He touched your mum, he touched your muuum, Danny Waaard, he touched your mum. I think you might be on the wrong board here - your images of DW are a little disturbing to say the least. You might want to seek counselling or perhaps a self help group for those worrying thoughts.

I get these new regulations are tricky. But this is why most clubs have experienced people at the top. Can’t imagine Stuart Webber or Ross Wilson finding themselves in this position.

Surely the player himself knows the rules and what’s going on? It would be incredibly stupid if he’s left himself in a position where he can’t get a job!

I don;t see Rhodes doing the donkey work that our system demands tbh. Maybe not but to have the option of a genuine goal threat in the squad would improve us massively. At the moment all that Campbell gives us is donkey work, nothing else. In a few games recently we’ve completely dominated possession so we’ve not really needed Campbells industry as much to win the ball back. In games like Bristol City, Stoke etc if we had someone who knew what they were doing in the box we would have won those games. I can certainly see the benefit of having a striker that offers something different to Campbell.

Might be a sweeping generalisation but the average top level player is so cosseted that they probably couldnt wire a plug. They have club officials and representatives to pay everyday bills, remind them to take passports etc etc I really wouldn't bank on a player knowing he is or isn't eligible.

Given the law changes in the 1990s re selling devices without a plug AND the fact it is a slow news day, I would wager that a good proportion of under 35's couldn't wire a plug, not just cosseted footballers. 😉

I believe he was given appropriate advice but don’t think it helped him nod off !

The Examiner's pre press conference report here says "Town have also been linked with a move for former Everton striker Oumar Niasse. Corberan has previously been very tight-lipped about transfer links but he is sure to be asked about that connection nonetheless." I assume from that he was hoping that somebody else would do the asking. www.examinerlive.co.uk/sport/football/news/huddersfield-town-press-conference-schindler-19824803

That fact we are all nattering and going on about (including me by the way ) a 30 year old that hasn’t played for a year or scored for two coming , maybe on a free (if he can pass the visa process ) in mid February shows what a shambles we have become .

No I'm not the typical youth of today playing on that sort of thing I'm just useless at any form of manual work. I wish it was not the case. My dad used to just give me the job of cutting up the scrap metal....I could manage that.

Can anyone confirm he’s at least training with us prior to this hearing? If it’s hopeful of being successful might as well get a jump start on fitness and learning the Carlos way to reduce any delay in playing once signed?

My dad realised I would never be a tradesman early on and decided I needed to go to university. Nowt wrong with “horses for courses” I got my first car 40 years ago and I’ve never worked on any of them, other than clean it inside and out, air in the tyres and refill the screen wash bottle, yet I’ve brothers in law whose idea of fun is to spend all day tinkering under the bonnet. But I did teach myself to tile, wallpaper, basic joinery, change a light fitting etc etc I’m not sure when we started to get it wrong in this country, probably about the time Huddersfield Polytechnic became a University (was that Tony Blair ?) and at the same time the Government decided all school leavers should go onto University - plainly nonsense, by all means help the gifted, underprivileged achieve their full potential but the idea everyone should go makes no sense. I would guess when I left school probably 5 out of a class of 30 should / did go into further education, the rest started a variety of jobs, from bin men and road sweeps ( nothing wrong with either by the way, I’ve always believed whatever you choose be the best at it that you can, I think that’s why I get so wound up with so many Town players nowadays ?) to office workers and the like. By all means encourage them into apprenticeships to be mechanics, plumbers, joiners and so forth but how many 17/18 year olds do we needs with an “ology” who can't work a washing machine?

Got to agree with Shortfuse, I can do the basics wire plug, oil in car etc but hate it. I've friends who think nothing is better than spending weekend with a tool belt on building, repairing or tinkering with something whilst I'd rather stab myself in the balls than do any of that. Lucky to afford it or lazy it my be perceived but my preference is get someone in who will do a top notch job.
My kids are grown up 27 & 25 and both been taught the basics as important life skills.
