Got to agree with Shortfuse, I can do the basics wire plug, oil in car etc but hate it. I've friends who think nothing is better than spending weekend with a tool belt on building, repairing or tinkering with something whilst I'd rather stab myself in the balls than do any of that. Lucky to afford it or lazy it my be perceived but my preference is get someone in who will do a top notch job. My kids are grown up 27 & 25 and both been taught the basics as important life skills. Me too, but I'm a pervert.

He's hurtling down the M1 as we speak to the UK Borders Agency HQ to try and get them to give his visa application back.

I’ve given up on this now. If it does turn out to be true, by the time he’s available to play it could be way too late.
The way this club have dealt with the striker situation is beyond deplorable.

It was probably intentionally floated so it looked like we were serious about bringing someone in, hope we beat Wycombe then turn up saying the deal fell through. It wouldn't seem as shambolic that way, the fact we were pathetic against Wycombe means they're just going mute.

This latest transfer saga with Niasse is yet another example of the ineptitude and naivety we have at the club currently. Surely someone did there due diligence and realized that He would not qualify under the new visa points system. We are crying out for experienced reinforcements and yet we are all sat here slowly sliding down the league. I cant imagine an experienced DOF would of allowed this to happen? Suppose you get what you pay for...

Suppose you get what you pay for... As I understood it the club must have know he was points short but the process of appeal to the FA might do the trick...in addition his 5 year residence claim via the Home Office is being persued in tandem ..there are delays in both these offices so you may well blame Town starting the process too late (if they did) but we just have to wait for the appeals processes to take place now..Galling I know, and I wonder why we didn't find other less complicate targets although I suspect we didn't want to spend any money.
The consequences though of such a delay can be clearly seen with the team losing confidence match by match, and it will take an awful lot to restore that confidence. I fear if (when) we drop into the bottom 3, we'll never get out...

That's my concern. If we'd brought him in a few weeks ago when this was just a blip, his arrival might have sparked a bit more confidence & enthusiasm. With the delay, the blip turned into a slump & I'd now go as far as to say it's a depression that will take a lot more than the arrival of a free agent to pull us out of.

I gather his visa application has been ongoing since July..... That could very well be true. Any type of visa, permit, residency, IDL, citizenship application is a long winded and expensive process under normal circumstance. Covid is delaying the process even further at this moment in time.

It’s just one farce after another. We just need a player sacked for wanking in the showers, Carlos to rattle Phil’s wife & Bromby to be put on gardening leave for us to have the full house.

13 days after this thread was started, there’s still no concrete news.
Safe to assume it won’t be happening.

One of the problems is that rumours start well before anything is happening. If this had stayed under the radar, as they did mostly before social media, whether it happened or not, and why, would be kept within the club. We have 17 pages of speculation and ‘another transfer fiasco’ when nobody knows the real tale behind this. Bit of a no win for the club.

Maybe the club were told some porkies by the agent when they started negiotiating. And maybe, OM's agent didnt understand the post Brexit protocol when he gave advice......

Even if it does happen, can't see it making a jot of difference. We are way more than a striker short of an average team, sadly.

Hope we are not after sonogo as he did pretty much nothing up to this point ,as somebody said earlier it’s another Jonathan Tehoue situation ,we are a laughing stock .

He’ll have retired by time we’ve got this sorted, got him fit abs Carlos dares to play him / injure him
Think Maynard suggested we’d spoke to him mid January - apologies if not
Now a month later!

I was told by a pretty reliable source 2 weeks ago there were visa issues hence the delay but 2 weeks on and still nothing? Looking like another cock-up from where I’m sitting. Seasons running down and he’ll need time to get up to speed, going to be a waste of time at this rate.
