He’s been training at West Brom so won’t take too long to get fit. In a Covid-secure elite sports bubble?

He’s been training at West Brom so won’t take too long to get fit. He recently said he’d jump in his car and drive to Birmingham to play for West Brom, when he was angling for a PL reunion with his old boss, before the transfer window opened. That doesn’t sound as though he’s there already, though, does it? It would be good if he had been training with them, as I guess he’d then be in their ‘bubble’ and wouldn’t have to quarantine either....

Has he ever played in the Championship? Cardiff & Hull were struggling premier league sides when he went on loan to them. I had Hull as in the Championship when he was there, I may be wrong. Either way it will be a month before he would be fit enough to even play in the Championship. 16/17 season Hull were in the premier league. He's only ever played in the premier league in this country. Minutes wise he's played the equivalent of around 38 PL games with 12 goals & 4 assists (all in struggling premier league sides)

I cannot wait for the first interview where they inevitably ask “so Oumar, when did you first hear of the interest from Huddersfield Town?”
Wonder what his answer will be 🤔. I woke up on 3rd February to 16 missed calls from an unknown number but my I phone suggested it may be Leigh Bromby. He asked if I could make it to Waterloo Medical Practice for a quick check up. From there we went to the training ground and once I saw the security office out front I was sold!!

One day somebody is going to say "Well I've had talks with about 5 club's lately but my agent fucked them all up by being greedy and this was the only option I had left!"

The Luton lad last week was pretty close to saying that 😂

However we stumbled into this signing, i’m excited about it.
Might be the bit of luck we needed, especially if there is a way of keeping him next season if it works out.

A bit concerning that West Brom, who are terrible, didnt think he was worth a short term deal after training with them

A bit concerning that West Brom, who are terrible, didnt think he was worth a short term deal after training with them Not really, massive difference in terms of the Premier League and Championship - he wouldn't be going there and starting games, whose to say they didn't want him and he decided against it. West Brom despite their position have a lot more fire power than us, Niasse will fancy his chances and rightly so of dislodged Campbell fairly quickly.

A bit concerning that West Brom, who are terrible, didnt think he was worth a short term deal after training with them Because someone on here says he's been training with West Brom it doesn't automatically mean it's true. How could he train with them with Covid restrictions? He's not employed by them so he wouldn't be in their bubble. On the link I posted on here last week he said he's been training hard with a personal trainer. Also, West Brom are in the premier league, we're in the Championship so looking at a different standard of player. I think the only reason why he was linked with them is because of his previous working under big Sam, I've seen no real evidence that the link had any substance though?

He trained with WBA but this was only to regain fitness. There was never once a deal to be in place. Town have tracked him for a while

Town have tracked him for a while How did they manage to get around that with all the restrictions? In a interview a month ago he said he was training with a PT, so even IF they managed to get around the fact he's not in their bubble he'd have still need to have quarantined for two weeks. I can't see how they'd be any truth in that unless WBA are flaunting the rules?

I’m sure Jack Wilshire trained with B’mouth for a few weeks with no contract to get fit and earn a contract so it must be allowed somehow. I want it to be true but until I see a picture on the website of him holding a shirt or I’m sceptical it can be F****d up in true town style.
