My source's brother's milkman's wife's chiropodist thinks hes a wrong 'un. Personally I think its harsh to judge him during a pandemic and whilst we're still hamstrung with some left over feuds from before he got the gig. Doesn’t your son work for grim? 😂 See, thats wont have travelled!

I know a few of us havent taken a liking to his manner towards others the past few days, but this thread is embarrassing. Even if it was intended as tongue in cheek, still a little immature Its tongue in cheek and a little immature, so what?! This isn't a forum for discussing quantum physic dissertations, its a place for a bit of fun! Most of the follow up replies seem to take that fully on board with some humorous rib-pulling which I'm pretty sure that G will appreciate and won't be upset by in any way shape or form and won't start crying about it (and he is the only one really who might have some justification to take exception to it). The semi-serious point I hoped to be able to make off the back of it (and looks to be heading that way), is that people seemingly can separate someone who seems to be an abrasive divisive character when he posts his opinions, from someone 'doing the job'....but for some reason, (what is proving to be) a small minority of posters can't separate that PH is 'doing the job' - bogged down by opinions formed of his presumed aloof passive-aggressive character. Some people need to open their eyes and realise that this is classed as online bullying. The lad has had to have a week off. How do you know this genuinely hasnt got to him a little? In my opinion, this thread needs deleting. Are you aware of mental health? Creating a thread like this can really impact the individual.

You should only vote 'No - he's only doing more harm than good' if you then send an email volunteering your services.
Bloke has stepped up to be an admin - that gets my immediate respect as it's a voluntary role.
Secondly, he's expressed an opinion - someone doesn't like it and just because he's an admin that's used against him.
He's allowed to post what he likes as long as it's within the rules - the rules he oversees by the way so I'm hoping he knows them more than most, certainly than me but I've never read them, mainly because I hope I don't need to.
Common decency and manners are the order of the day.

If he's as mentally fragile as you suggest, he isn't going to be posting on here confidently stating his opinion, punctuated with sweary language and mild abuse of other posters, he's not going to take on the role of admin of a football chat site, and he's not going to have the balls to stand up in front of a crowd and 'do comedy' - if he's not comfortable in taking a bit of light hearted joviality. Don't be such a total and complete wet blanket, not everyone needs someone to put their hand up on their behalf. This is not a lad who is being 'bullied' by a few harmless words on a forum!! He's more than capable of letting people know if he's been offended.

When did Big Daddy first hear about our interest in him and what made him think this was the right Forum for him.
I don’t like the transfer sub board carry on but I couldn’t give a monkeys about how he posts or what he posts as long as people don’t get abused for having an opinion.
Long live the Big Daddy.

You think someone f'ing at people and calling them poll strokers or whatever should get an easy ride because he may have mental health issues - but you're ok that he directs the f'ing and poll stroking at others in the first place?! Hmmm 🤔 He quite obviously doesn't have mental health issues or a fragility that has any relevance to this discussion.

Common decency and manners are the order of the day. Except loads of people have said that they would be happy to give up their time to be an admin but it's been a completely closed shop. It's gone from about 7 admins to just 2 (and now 1). Not because of apathy, but because of a reluctance to let other people help. This means that there's sometimes hours with zero admins monitoring the boards. This "they do a thankless task with no reward" schtick wears a bit thin if you refuse to let anyone else help. Especially when it's something that was built and belongs to a community, not an individual. You can't condemn a community going to the dogs when you refuse the community to have a say in their governance.

He's more than capable of letting people know if he's been offended. You my friend are so oblivious it is unreal. Mental health doesnt choose a stereotype. Just because of the way someone looks, doesnt mean they cant suffer. Social media is a tool where life looks great and happy. Inside your own walls and body it can be totally different. Maybe the way he has behaved in the last few days is mirrored with how he is feeling? Maybe because of covid, his work as a comedian has suffered and has hit him financially hard? I really cant believe how blinkered you have made yourself seem. Your comment 'he is more than capable of letting people know how he is feeling" is beyond ignorance. Do you really feel someone in a negative mental frame of mind finds it easy to speak up? Not for 1 minute am I saying he is definately feeling this way, but on the off chance he is, I feel people need to wind their necks in

No one knows how being “targeted “ in a poll can effect people ,especially when lots are feeling low at the moment anyway.

Rare serious post from me:
Mental health issues or not (and I am not qualified to assess either way, although it does seem plausible), singling somebody out in this way is a shitty thing to do. I fundamentally disagree with our Grimflake when it comes to HTFC's chairman, but he's expressed an opinion - as he's entitled to.
This is ugly, and unnecessarily so.

Tbh, I am also uncomfortable with the use of a picture to show that someone doesn’t have mental health issues. Maybe this has gone too far now.

Not the first time he’s posted stuff designed to cause “extreme “ debate.

The poll is unnecessary. However, it raises the question kennyk2, that maybe another admin or two is needed to give you and BidDaddyG some breathing space from time to time? I’ve read the previous reasons why not, but maybe it’s times to reconsider and share the burden.
