This is an idea that we can discuss. Trying to configure a poster's name once already registered might be a problem, as their original registration profile still appears. On the same subject, the problem admins have had, and I know this is hard to believe, is personal threats to their person. Four out of the last five admins have been exiles, which actually makes things a hell of a lot easier for them. My god. That’s disgraceful Kenny. I’m struggling to understand this. There have actually been threats against admins by some posters? On a football forum? The mind absolutely boggles!

Brilliant suggestion. kennyk2 this surely is one for consideration? This is an idea that we can discuss. I'd be more than ok with a bit of naming & shaming for anyone doing that. Really not on at all.

Absolutely reprehensible behaviour.

As I understand it, the way it often works is that you simply create a new profile with an Admin username. It's a bit of a pain perhaps logging in & out, but can be got around by using different browsers whilst still allowing admins to post as themselves.
If you're getting threats, I hope you're passing IP addresses to the Police (if they'd do anything anyway)...it's unbelievable how moronic some people can be.

Like I said we can have a look at it and if we ever get new admins, we can run this idea past them. There is always going to be a problem with email address on your profile, or as an admin, can I only see this? Never had threats personally, something that happened a number of years ago now. I reckon that exile status is desirable (not essential) though if we were to choose a new admin(s).

I can’t see anything on anyone else’s profile that identifies them unless they choose to put it there so it’s probably an Admin thing I think.

In all seriousness, thanks for what you do and I say that as someone who has got the wrong side of admins. Undoubtedly, a thankless task. Cheers!

Time for people to be grateful for the unpaid time and effort that goes into overseeing this forum. I’d be in favour of imposing an instant ban for any instances of personal abuse towards them.

Fair comment. What about instances of personal abuse from them? It’s very clear you’ve disagreed with BigDaddyG’s comments about Phil, but it’s time you took this up with him directly away from the board on his return. It’s looking increasingly like a personal issue with each post you mention it. I can see why you stand up on the issue of personal attacks, you obviously have moral fibre, but at some stage it needs letting be. He had an opinion, you do also, that’s the nature of a forum.
