Ive been eyeing up a seat in the riverside upper for a while now imm getting a tad irked with the scowls from super dad in front of me who turns round with ruffled forehead when me or people attending with me swear i have pointed out on more than one occasion that the big thing with seats in it behind the goals is a family stand ...a fucking get in town ..when we score is hardly a public order issue. I was in the riverside upper with my daughter many years ago when an argument erupted between a guy who kept swearing when Town ballsed things up, (quite frequently) and a woman sat with a couple of kids. The woman was telling the guy to stop swearing , The guy replied after a lengthy argument, "I'm not stopping swearing its a f*****g football match you silly cow"! Both myself and my daughter had a great laugh as did many of the other supporters. You may find some of the anti swearing league even in the riverside upper!

Aye 4 play off final wins out of 5 in the years since that automatic promotion illustrates your point perfectly doesn’t it 🤭 There is no other club in the country gone longer without an automatic promotion than Town. Are you sure?

I've advocated a Non Family Stand for years. When I first went to the football with me dad, on the walk along Leeds Road I got the "Now, you might hear some naughty words. You're not to use them" (I didn't realise that most would come from him!). But the idea that we might try and change the East Terrace to accommodate me was laughable. Fast forward a few years (and a new stadium) and we get the family stand. Nothing wrong with that at all. Great idea. The problem is, as football becomes more of a whole family thing, so all stands become virtually family stands. Now, I'm under a fair bit of pressure at work. When I leave work, I don't punch a random bloke in the pub after doing bad coke. I don't scream at the missus. I don't kick the cat. But I may spontaneously go mad after a Town goal, or if a decision goes against us. It's massively cathartic and sets me up to be a good citizen for the rest of the week. Occasionally, a naughty word will slip out. Now, if that's going to be too much of a problem, give us an area for people like me. An area where we can watch football in exactly the same way my Dad used to at Leeds Road: The Non Family-Friendly Stand. But wouldn't this exclude those with kids who want to join us? No. You just need to have the same chat that I had walking down Leeds Road for the first time. The one that thousands of us had. And guess what? We may have heard a few naughty words, but we actually grew up to be good citizens.

There is no other club in the country gone longer without an automatic promotion than Town. Are you sure? Yes, we've clarified further up thread. Out of all the clubs eligible for automatic promotion since 1983, this does not count clubs who have had an unbroken top flight spell since then only Coventry hadn't won one and that was owing to the fact they had been top flight for a long long time buy they won automatic promotion last season leaving Town without one.

A non family stand is a mint idea ...it just really gets on my tits that Town dedicate a 2 tier stand behind the goals to familys and you still have the holier than thou brigade dotted about everywhere if a smattering of anglo saxon language offends that much get in the family stand.

It is THEIR fault as they have knowingly put their children in an environment where they know what can and is likely to happen language wise. Now the family stand is different, any bad language even mild and you should be chucked out there and then. It is completely unacceptable in this area of the ground and there should be zero tolerance (there probably is).

In our first PL season, quite a few of the “Anti Swearing Brigade” suddenly appeared around where I sit ( Riverside Lower ) Noticeable by their brand new Town scarfs and constant taking of photos - the look of disgust on their faces when hearing the crowds comments whenever the Ref made a “bad” decision was a picture! Miraculously, these people disappeared once we were back in the Championship.

I was gonna say that the South Stand in its current guise is a defacto Non Family stand. But whilst I like being behind the goals and standing on an away day, I want to be side on at home. And to be next to someone who can't stand for 90 minutes, but does like to say "Fucking shite, Town" every now and then.

So your barometer of success is automatic promotion? Seems an odd way to berate the club you support? The play-offs are there for a purpose, all clubs know the rules. If they hadn't existed, do you think Wagner would have approached the last few games the other season differently, in the desire to secure third place? The play offs were brought in to make things more exciting give clubs more to play for, keep interest for longer. They have been a good thing, don't get me wrong. Off course the barometer of success is winning automatic promotion, you don't say you got the FA Cup semi final and count it as success do you? I don't get your last point here. Winning promotion via play offs is more like winning the cup than losing in the semi final.

www.htafc.com/news/2021/february/update-fans-returning-for-202122-campaign/We are gathering further information regarding Stadium capacities for next season to ascertain whether further restriction may be in place. We are hopeful, though, that you will be with us in full capacity*.Also, those who paid for an under 18 ticket this season (£129), will get that price for the next 3 seasons, even if they're no longer under 18. On sale dates will be announced when available, and there is no mention or hint of South Stand or any other changes. *I don't think I've ever been to a football match 'in full capacity' - usually pretty close to 'half cut' 🤪 Why have two separate categories in the frozen season ticket prices (adults & over 60s) , when the pricing is exactly the same ? Unless that is , that when the new prices are announced adults will go up and over 60s stay the same..
