We've gone from one extreme to the other. We've gone from passing the ball sideways & backwards in our own half until the forward pass is given to the opposition to pissing around with it at the back then just aimlessly lumping the ball forward to Campbell who has zero support around him. Morrison will just dominate at the back playing the same tactic against Cardiff. Corberan hasn't got a clue. Morrison will dominate up front too, at all set pieces. Aden Flint is even more aerially dominant than Morrison. We're in for a tough game.

What many of you don't realise is Derby played a virtually new team v Cardiff, so you're reading too much into the 4-0.If we can get at them early then they'll panic and we'll win 4-0.Turn up the positivity.

In the interview with Oggy after the match Carlos looked like a man who had been told to forget his footballing philosophy and just get points anyhow For Friday try play in their half not ours and if like last night players that are at the edge of the opponent’s area play the ball back that ends up going to Schofield or take a free kick backwards sub them straight away get playing with some passion UTT We pumped lots of balls forward last night, particularly in the first half. We gave away possession almost every time.

Cardiff will be far too strong for our defence ! My 11 year old Grandson’s team would have enough to score against our pathetic defence!

The first lesson our players need drumming into them is not to give Cardiff unnecessary free kicks and corners, allowing them to launch the ball into our box. The second lesson is to close them down rapidly with a high press - ALL THE GAME! - then we've got a chance. The third lesson is don't use speculative long balls to the front men, keep it on the floor with quick passing and MOVEMENT - their big defenders won't like that. The fourth lesson is believe in the law of averages i.e we're due for a win and they're due for a loss.

I'm not advocating a lot of long balls but sometimes you can make something out of them if you are chasing a few? Campbell does a lot of running about but rarely makes a long wider ball?

With the lack of players i wonder if it’s time to go with 3 proper centre halves, it’s the only position we are not short of options.

I’ve noticed that Smithies has dropped down to the bench in recent weeks. McCarthy not looking like a fan.. should be all over that in the summer if the opportunity arises.

Have we ever beaten a team with Morrison in it- colossus of a C half Championship wise and hard as nails-just the sort of player that we don’t have enough of. It’s why I was never a Mounie fan because he truly was soft . So please prove me wrong CC and stop making team substitutions that simply make us worse on Friday UTT

Smithies was his first choice Then went off ill during a game and missed a few games Phillips did well in those games and kept his place

That's one old boy transfer that would certainly strengthen us! Smithees was a player we should have targeted last summer, £3-£4m would have brought him back I’m guessing but that was £3-£4m more than we would have wanted to pay. This summer will be no different.

Three at the back for me tonight. Squad is desperately short but I wouldn't make it worse by playing players out of position. Pipa should play right wingback.

Schofield
Sarr Stearman Keogh
Rowe O'Brien Vallejo Bacuna Pipa
Mbenza Campbell
That's the team I'd go with tonight.

Town start really well..
Lots of possession and chances but no goals..
Cardiff break away in the 44th minute and win a corner..
Schofield makes a brilliant save from the centre halfs header but unfortunately he is stood 2 yards behind his line..
Ht. 1-0 Cardiff..
2nd half starts in similar fashion..
Towns best chance is squandered by Bacuna who blasts wildly over the bar from 10 yards when clean thru..
Cardiff grab a second from the penalty spot after sarr handles the ball on the line with Schofield in no mans land..
In a last desperate throw of the dice Carlos sends on “the ginger messi “ Alex Pritchard..
He has an immediate impact on the game when he trips over his own beard in the centre circle handing easy possession to their striker..
3-0 Cardiff..

I reckon Rowe might get another turn at left back. More energy and have a go.
