A few years back he has like God status and a bad word dearnt be said about him so now the club has hit a rough patch everyone is deserting him in droves, it's quite sickly.
The guy spent his own fortune and took Town up to the heights and now everyone just wants to kick him.
Be careful what you wish far is my advice.

He spent a part of his massive (but well earned) fortune, and now wants it back. If this is a rough patch, it seems to be a very long one. He's not the Messiah, he's a ....

I think you'll find he deserted us, left us with £50m+ worth of flops that we can't even give away because of the wages they're on, installed a new owner that has no money & took the parachute payments with him.

Nobody begrudgers him getting his money back it's how quickly he wants it back. Instead of taking it back so quickly he could have invested some of it in the team and who knows he might have owned 25% of a Premier League club rather than 25% of maybe a League 1 club.

Personally I think the problem is that he didn't take it back quickly enough. Should've started to have his loans repaid upon promotion (though granted his period of ill health hadn't happened by then) and no-one would have batted an eyelid

Why start this thread , your just shit stirring. why am I ? It's a valid point no? Not really. DH has nothing to do with the day to day running of the club anymore, he is 25% owner of the club on paper until he gets his money back but that's it. He's given Hodgkinson the reins to try & pick up the pieces of the disaster he left behind.

Why start this thread , your just shit stirring. why am I ? It's a valid point no? You're shit stirring because it's been done to death on here many times...And yes I have contributed. However, DH did that podcast and answered a lot of the unanswered questions. Whilst I and others may not totally agree with the decisions taken, he's provided clarity and reasoning behind the decision he took. After the podcast, most said "fair enough, it is what it is, time to move on" You shit shirring by bringing it up again after a 7-0 loss

Fingers crossed we stay up, Carlos keeps with the job and we borrow 5 cracking young lads from Leeds next season who know how to play the way we want to play.

There's a sad fact that I've come across throughout my many years of life and I see this demonstrated vividly in the sentiment of this original post. Imho it's summed up in this meme that's been doing the rounds on social media ....
One day a school teacher wrote on the board the following: 9×1=7 9×2=18 9×3=27 9×4=36 9×5=45 9×6=54 9×7=63 9×8=72 9×9=81 9×10=90 When she was done, she looked to the students and they were all laughing at her, because of the first equation which was wrong, and then the teacher said the following; "I wrote that first one wrong on purpose, because I wanted you to learn something important. This was for you to know how the world out there will treat you. You can see that I wrote CORRECTLY 9 times, but none of you congratulated me for it; but you all laughed and criticised me because of one wrong thing I did". So this is the lesson: People will never appreciate the good that you do even if you do it many, many times, but they will sure as hell criticise the one 'wrong' thing you do...

Tony Blair did lots of good things in my eyes but then joined in with the disastrous invasion of Iraq. Do the former good deeds mean he can't be criticised for this?

When I post something, I try to make it clear whether it's a statement of fact or whether it's simply my opinion; in this instance I wrote 'imho', which means that it's my opinion. You'd not be surprised to see me reply that my opinion is neither glib nor irrelevant, even though you've written that it is in what seems to me to be a statement of fact, which I do not accept. If it's your opinion, then I accept that. Further, it is my opinion that if Dean Hoyle had not acted and taken control at the time that he did and in the way that he did it, the Huddersfield Town story would have been very different to how it has been and further, I *think* that there's a very real possibility it would have been a lot less positive than it has been. Of course, no-one will ever know if that's true or not .... which is why much of what's written on social media is only opinion, even though many people state opinions as fact!
Malcolmbrown ... sincerely, I don't mean anything personal ... I'm talking principles not personalities; I chose to respond because it's a response to a point I've made. I'll close with 2 more points ....
1. No matter how much money one may have, a million pounds is a million pounds and there's not many people that I know, or that I have come across, that would simply 'give away' a million pounds (or the equivalent of a million pounds as a percentage of their own 'worth') with no expectation.
2. I used to look forward to reading people's opinions of this forum but over time, my opinion was that people were writing stuff as statements of fact when they were highly likely to be just theeir own opinions, and doing it with the intent to provoke, goad or work up other posters. Consequently I visited the forum less and less (which is no great loss to anyone in the great order of things).
Interested to see and read people's opinions and views about the bigger picture of Huddersfield Town - following what I *think* the majority will agree was a pretty poor overall display last night - I read through this (and recent) the very subjective criticism of Dean Hoyle, it got me thinking about what a dire situation we as supporters felt that we were in before Dean Hoyle took over from the previous incumbent!
You subsequently raised an opinion about Tony Blair. As with Dean Hoyle you attempt to reduce complex topics to a binary 'wholly good' or 'wholly bad'. Again, my opinion is that such an approach is a weak approach ... again, my experiences in life are that not much is binary. And whilst we're on the subject of Tony Blair ... I'd take a bad Labour politician over the 'best' Conservative politician ANY day of the week!
