Getting Michael Hefele involved in some capacity at Town is a no brainer for me. His enthusiasm for the club and for seemingly everything has to be used, whether that is on or off the pitch. I think the guy has a lot to offer, and his sheer popularity would be such a positive. I have been thinking this for a while now and I agree with your thoughts I don't know the situation with Keoig but Jeff is a great character and would certainly be a asset to the young players and certainly in and around the dressing room and canal side. I have no idea if this could happen but who knows? Jeff? Are we going for Kammy too? The Sky's the limit.

It’s Heffing coming home 🇩🇪 Taking up the Keogh mentoring position? I said they'd kept the No 1 shirt for him 😉😂

He's looking a bit Heff-ty on his recent Instagram posts.

Getting Heff back in a non-playing capacity would be an extremely sensible move by the club, the man is a total Town legend, he was the poster boy for a time when the club owner, management, players, staff & fans were at their most united. It would make me so happy & that feel good factor alone would be enough for me to renew season tickets for me & my 2 boys.
He's my joint favourite Town player (with the brilliant Darren Bullock) & I always thought he'd make a brilliant youth coach, mentor or ambassador for the club.

I liked Heff as a player and a "personality" - and he certainly seemed more committed than many of those we had representing us last season. That said, that's no reason to offer him a job at Town - if he came back with a worthwhile job to do then great - I'd welcome him - but we already have others (and Boothy) to do the PR stuff.
You can't just invent jobs for ex-players because they were popular characters !

I dont understand personally the way Hefele gets spoken about. He was at the club for a short time, did a decent job and was a genuine good bloke but we have had alot of players like that. Is he loved moreso for swearing on TV? Wearing a dressing gown in a video or maybe even doing a lions roar after scoring off his arse ?
A decent centre half who gave 100%. I wish him all the best but not sure we need him as a cheerleader.

Well done whoever did this. He was instrumental in an amazing season... a season that for many of those players will be the highlight of their careers.

He has more passion in his little finger, than certain squad members put together

The thing about Hef is that he is a personality who is positive, has energy and belief. He has the ability to be infectious across the entire club.
In a period when everything at the club has been incredibly down beat anyone who can lift us out of the malaise has to be welcomed.
I don't know if he's doing his coaching badges but perhaps longer term he could be seen as a future manager?
The club needs a fresh positive mindset and I think characters like Hef, or especially Hef (given his positive history with Town), are something we need.
I would welcome him being involved. It may not work but I can see the logic.

I don't want any of our players that we have a special affinity with to become permanent manager; whether that be Hef, Schindler, Boothy, etc., regardless of how capable they are. It's only a matter of time before things don't work out and the gobshite minority will sour the relationship. A coach is a different matter.

But it does buy them more time than managers who have no affinity with the club. Jacko got a lot more time than anyone else ever had simply if because he was a Town legend, Mick Buxton as well although he became a legend in a different way.

One of the mates of young lad I work with has just put on their group chat that the heff has booked a appointment to look at the new builds in valley gardens in paddock . I don’t work with Maynard and my subscription to the news network has definitely expired but thought I’d pass it on !!

I suppose as a last resort to cover injuries I would have him as much as I would of wanted keogh. As a coach and a character around the first team I’d definitely have him over him . Would be happy to have him back in the right role.

I wish him all the best but not sure we need him as a cheerleader. You've pretty much summed up why he should be brought back in some capacity. He might have been here for a short time but in that short time he had such a huge effect on people and only in a positive way. Swearing on TV? He was showing passion and how much it meant to him. Wearing a dressing gown in a video? You need characters especially when the chips are down to get everyone out of a slump. Doing a lions roar after scoring with his arse? Don't know what's wrong with that either. All positives. He always gave a 100% and seemed to have an affinity with the club and fans. Maybe he does that everywhere because of his personality but it's that personality that could give the squad and fans a lift when they need it.

He would fit in character wise if in and around the place in some form.So far most of the signings all seem to come with the good character and mentality tag. It’s something that goes a long long way at this level as we have seen ourselves.Granted there were 2/3 players of high quality in their positions so not suggesting for a minute that history repeats itself but ot certainly can’t hurt and those are the types fans will definitely get behind too.

We don’t have a budget to allow us to recruit people on such a basis IMO. Some may however see this as a good reason to recruit which is fair enough. 👍

But I really don’t understand how it can be thought that bringing him back in a none playing capacity would benefit anyone. Passion is generated on the pitch not off it.
