TBF I thought Barnsley were a lot better than they were at Oakwell.
....they remind me a fair bit of Wagner's promotion team.
Great to see Eiting & Koroma back if they'd been about in 2021 there is NO WAY we'd be in the position we are now.
Our full strength team (including Koroma, Eiting, Pipa & Toffolo) wins games like that despite how sh8*te we're supposed to be reading this board sometimes.

We lacked quality all night but i thought we battled well. Players put in a good shift, it just wasnt happening for them against a good Barnsley side.
But for that chance OBrien had late on we never looked like scoring and Eiting coming on 15 minutes earlier might have changed that.
That was always likely to be the toughest of the 4 games we had left.
Eiting looked class in his brief appearence and Koroma was very lively first half.
Just hope our full backs are back for Blackburn.

Poor result and performance but results gone our way largely Barnsley play Rotherham next who will leggy and without crooks We now face three sides on the beach and have a big points cushion - I’d have taken that at the start of the season If there is a beach, whoever wants to get on it will have to lever some of our lazy bastards out of the way to get on it. Until is impossible to be overtaken you wouldn't bet on these fuckers to give it their best shot to be.. Last game result, I dont think hogg and o brien can run enough for everyone else..the rest will be creamed up and speedos on..

Woeful.
Hopefully Pipa, Toffolo, Eiting and Koroma can start on Saturday and we scrape another point (or even, win) to stay up this season.
Our form this calendar year has been pathetic and we could have no complaints if we did go down.

I had genuine optimism we'd get a pint tonight, 1 point tonight would have been a good bit of additional safety. Poor. The bookies are still quite confident we are safe but we need to keep besting the Derby and Rotherham results. Just matching them would be fine 😉 I want a bit of a run before the end of the season now we have a few players back. Like Cov and Birmingham are putting together.

Absolute fucking gash. 5 nil wouldn’t have flattered Barnsley.
Not to worry, we’ll sign 15 decent players in the summer and turn this club around 😂

Was suprised how many people thought we would win today to be honest, against a team in playoffs.
We are shit. What does it take for some people to realise we are comfortably one of the worst teams in this division.

As in Monty Python look on the bright side of life, oh sorry that doesn't apply to Town. Luckily I have plenty of booze in the house to make me forget this abject performance

Even allowing for all the challenges with injuries this season that performance shows how much work is required on this squad.
Our lack of quality is woeful but worse is our inability to do the fundamentals. We can't keep the ball, our quality of passing is poor and we carry a limited threat.
If, and it's still an if, we stay up we can't continue this deluded view of our squad. There are questions about coaching but some of these players are simply not up to the job. If we don't do so we will eventually be relegated.

We are abysmal, a huge clear out is needed in the summer Yes, starting with Corberan. If I was coberan I would have brought myself on and said, "I cant possibly do any worse and I want the appearance money"..

The Barnsley players knew exactly what they were doing. Well drilled and they are difficult to play against. Instead of sticking to his guns Carlos decided to try and counter their style of play. You could tell and we were crap until we started to play football when Eiting came on at the end. We are supposed to have an identity but we don’t seem to be showing it. Under the successful Wagner years we played a certain way no matter what. Yes, we took a few hammerings because of it but ultimately it was successful. We tried to scrap it out with a team who are far better at scrapping than we are.

Flies round a jam pot for 90% of that game.Terrible to watch, but hugely impressed by the Barnsley press; they're as fit as we were in 2017.Looked a lot better once Eiting came on and tried to play it a bit. Really can't see what Sanogo brings: he doesn't win it in the air (often); he doesn't hold it up; he can't shoot. Big shout out to the much-maligned Naby Sarr who kept us in the game (again) with not one, but two goal-line clearances. Overall, poor tonight, but we need a full-strength line-up for Saturday. No square pegs, please, Carlis... Completely agree but I would say we were a far better footballing side for most of our season. Mowatt is bang average compared to Mooy

Clubs a shambles...... I was saying last year the end of the season can't come soon enough and its same again this year, probably was saying it 3 seasons ago as well. On another note, the only bloke cheering all the way through the game has just had Phat Phil on the microphone who said...
"We lost, why don't you just go home" A proper chairman would have gone over and thanked him for his support. It happened on the red screen after the sky coverage. Describe that again town. I don't understand what you are on about The bloke that was chanting around the ground throughout the game... he was carrying on with who 2 be a terrier and one or two others after the final whistle, all supportive.... the screen when red but the ground noise was audible and Phat got on the ground microphone and told him "we've lost, why don't you just go home"... Why don't you just fuck off phat!

WHY THE FUCK WERE WE FUCKING PISSING ABOUT WITH THE FUCKING BALL AT THE FUCKING BACK IN INJURY TIME WHEN WE SHOULD BE DOING EVERYTHING TO GET THE FUCKING BALL FUCKING FORWARD?!!!!!!!!!! Fuck me we really were absolutely fucking shite tonight in literally every single area. We had a chance to do what Coventry and Birmingham have done tonight and basically secure safety. Instead we're still going to be shitting it We passed it when we should have been getting it forward late on. We lumped it for the 80 mins previous to that when we should have played.

Schofield is the worst keeper I have ever seen at Town. Are you 2 years old? Get a grip you wet wipe. Many many worse than him. However, he isn't Championship standard. I'd been told he was shite by a lad who supports Notts County. Couldn't believe he was our number 1

Unfortunately, the players don't know what system they are supposed to be playing one week to the next. One week lump it, the next week the passing game. Only when things become automatic and moves are second nature can the players hope to get any confidence.
Eiting totally changed the way we play tonight and when he came on he gave us a chance. Perhaps he should have started.
Koroma and Rowe really worried the Barnsley defence with their pace in the first half and they have both done well this season. We hardly won any second balls though and what Barnsley did well was find a player every time with their clearances, whereas we seem to want to just boot it anywhere. Every one of their players bullied and scrapped to get the ball back.
There really needs to be a sea change in the way the players and management approach the game and although I voted for CC to remain, I'm not so sure now. It needs a coach to really inspire a team and provide some cohesion... I'm not sure that the present coach is doing that. But, because PH has now totally committed to the management team, CC's going nowhere.
I don't know what to make of it to be honest, a pretty good start to the season and then the balloon just burst.

Honestly, credit to whoever is going to pay hundreds to watch that shit next year. I cant even make it to the end of games when its free to watch on tv or listen on the radio, never mind paying. Dull, boring football, playing around the back, then giving it away, playing it round the back, then giving it away. It must be a long time since we had a structure from top to bottom as clueless as we do right now at this football club. I have never known a manager seemingly play for a point as much as we have attempted this season. He has pretty much thrown games away at Norwich and Bournemouth. His team selections, his tactics, his substitutions, his game plan are absolutely garbage. The players we continue to bring in by this joke of a director of football are going to ensure the football will only get worse. Then we have a chairman who seems that clueless that he gives his backing to it all. Does anyone honestly trust them to overhaul the squad this summer? Like, really? More shit, cheap signings, slower more monotonous football and another relegation battle (thats if we survive this season). No thank you.

Apparently corberan is a arrogant wanka, he didn't even say hello to Danny grant for 6 weeks. Danny ward has told a friend of mine the players take no notice of him anymore because they don't know what he's saying

The best team won no doubt. Great to see Eiting back. Too many of ours not on it. No idea why High came on. He looked a boy amongst men. Don't know how many times I've seen High this season, but I've yet to see him make any kind of positive impact at all. He really does look out of his depth.

This week has highlighted what we all knew in October. Toffolo, Pipa and Eiting were what made our team work. But even then, you are still going to struggle unless you fork out for that 15-20 goal a season striker.

Honestly sometimes I feel like I watch different games to some on here. All the comments about effort and application....I thought we went toe to toe especially in the first half. Simply they are better than us at their gameplan and we aren't quite good enough to work a way around their limited plan. Barnsley remind me of us when we got promoted in some ways....completely in your face all game.
Hats off to Barnsley....they could be a real dark horse in the play offs.
I can understand the concern that a limited squad with a good plan and an excellent coach got the better of us but I couldn't fault the effort.
Yes we need to improve for next season...obviously. But I can't castigate the players on this occasion...they left everything out there in my view. Eiting showed an interesting cameo of what we have missed whilst he's been injured

That was a hard watch. We just lumped it forward and hoped Sonogo would win it.....he didn't. Really don't understand the High for Rowe substitution. High, Thomas and then Aarons all seemed to get a go on the right when they came on. Schofield looks petrified any time the ball comes in the box in the air. Except when we needed to in injury time instead of pissing about with it at the back.

Play it forward, win a free kick on the edge of theirs - and the referee blows for full time. Absolutely clueless, schoolboy stuff.
