The story I read didn't say he was off for £4m. It said he was Newcastle's plan B if they don't spend £20m on Joe Willock, and that LOB is worth £4m. A critical difference.

I'd sell him for £10M. Not sure he's actually worth that, but if PL teams are after him that's what we should aim for.

Great, let's sell our only player that actually looks like he gives a shit But can't shoot, pass or tackle 🤨 I like O'Brien, but I'm still not sure what his best position is. For a box to box, surely he should be scoring/assisting more.. but not helped by his team mates I don't think he would be any good as a 10 I always thought he might be good sitting in front of the back 4, but could be a waste of his energy up and down the field. He's worth nowhere near 10 million but there will be a premium on english players this transfer window due to Brexit rules.

LOB picks up the ball and goes tearing off up the pitch towards the oppositions box, looks fantastic, sadly he carries it too far, then sends a supersonic pass in the general direction of a Town shirt at the last minute that cannot be controlled. Repeat that 15 times and you have his game in a nutshell.

Who’s coming in to replace him? Adam Clayton, Jacob Butterfield or Scott Arfield?

Who’s coming in to replace him? Adam Clayton, Jacob Butterfield or Scott Arfield? Hopefully Butterfield. I bought my Niece a shirt with his name on the back (he was her favourite player) literally a week before he was sold. The hipster bearded prick

I think in the current COVID afflicted market £3 - £5 million is quite a realistic valuation for a relatively inexperienced lower championship level midfielder. Perhaps a more pertinent question is whether or not it’s worth selling him at when that sort of money might only bring in two or three other players and is it therefore better value keeping him another season in the hope his value increases significantly. All of course assuming that he doesn’t want to go and assuming the likes of Newcastle don’t get relegated this season

For me if there’s a PL club in for him you add 10m to the price.
If we sell for 4m to Newcastle I think it’s madness
The whole market changes as soon as PL clubs are involved you only have to look at the money we spaffed away when in there

In a world where karlan grants is worth £16m and billing £15m then you’d think LOB is worth more than £4m

If we can get £5m for O'brien and the money will 100% be invested in hew players then snap their hands off. Five £1m players would improve our squad dramatically.

It absolutely COULD/SHOULD improve the squad, but can you see us reinvesting it all? Sadly, i can’t. Plus I wouldn’t have an ounce of confidence that it’d be spent sensibly. I use the words ‘could/should’ rather than ‘would’ because, well...you know, we’re generally shit at recruiting good players!
