Can’t be selling young English players cheap. He needs to be going for a big, big fee, especially if it’s to Leeds. Would be a good chance to rebuild that midfield (if we spent the money). Him and Hogg are both decent players, but they don’t seem to complement each other. If we spent the money. That's a good one. The money has already been spent - if you remember PH and DH made a deal a while ago... |

How many think that getting rid of Shindler and Grant etc. and we can buy some div 1 players and be stronger this season. He appears to be getting away with it so far. I keep hoping that we will get some players who will improve the first 11, we will see. |

To be fair, on what we've seen so far, the two centre halves and goalkeeper we've brought in are better than last season's first 11 choices. Whether CC will pick all three on Sunday will be interesting. I don't disagree with the sentiment of your post, we could do with a bit more quality especially up front and in midfield. But your examples of Grant and Schindler aren't great. Koroma plays in Grant's position and is an excellent replacement. Schindler is a Town legend, but last season before the injury he looked a shadow of his former self. |

I don’t think losing LOB should be a disaster, in fact there isn’t a single player in the current squad that I see as vital and irreplaceable. No Mooy, no Marcus Stewart, not even a Jon Stead.
The problem is, as others have said, how little we reinvest in replacements. Alright, we’re a selling club since the dodgy deal but even a selling club needs to spend some of the incomings to replenish the talent. A club selling Grant and Mounie should have been in the market for an Ivan Toney or at least a Kiefer Moore. Danny Ward and Jordan Rhodes are crazy signings, past their best and no possible resale value. And the youngsters we bring are from so low down the pyramid that they are massive long shots.
So as a fan, I don’t want to see any of our half decent players leave - not because of their importance but because our recruitment model is so badly screwed up.

Did I see in some reports that O'Brien would be primarily signed as back up anyway. Maybe explains Bielsa being unexpectedly at your live TV game near end of last season? Been speculation on our Forums for few weeks about this and Bielsa apparently has admired him from afar for a while, always been impressed by him the few times I have seen him. |

I for one wouldnt want to see him go, i do though think he deserves a crack at a better team, if that could be us this season great, dont know how true the Leeds rumours are but seeing how Bielsa has made average championship players into prem players Bielsa might have seen something he can do the same with.

But now he wants every penny he spent back in less than half the amount of time it took him to spend it. Left us with an absolute shit shower of a squad with next to no resale value earning fortunes which meant nobody wanted them due to wage demands, on top of that he left the club with a £30m bank loan that needed repaying in two years. People asking where the money has gone, well most of it is answered above. |

If we do sell him and it appears likely he will leave in my opinion the most we will get is £6m with appearance Performance and sell on additions from Leeds or any club. We will then look to replace with either a free transfer or a player at around the £500k mark ( that’s if we even bother to replace) so we will automatically weaken the existing squad again, making the job much harder for the Manager. |
