LOB to Leeds ? Theyve probably got players of similar ability in their squad, so i doubt they would need to part with more than a few million and that in several installments. I dont think he will replace Phillips. They probably know we are keen for some funds so even a few million helps. If you were a Premier League club how much would you pay for a medium quality squad player?

FFS Before the Wagner miracle Dean was shovelling in millions every year and not expecting to see any of it back. A proper supporter. How many more times.... But now he wants every penny he spent back in less than half the amount of time it took him to spend it. Left us with an absolute shit shower of a squad with next to no resale value earning fortunes which meant nobody wanted them due to wage demands, on top of that he left the club with a £30m bank loan that needed repaying in two years. People asking where the money has gone, well most of it is answered above. ffs shut up it was the price we paid for a crack at the big league and everyone jumped on the band wagon mistake's where made shit happens at least he tried. Best chairman the club as ever had by miles.

If we can sell O'Brien, Bacuna and Mbenza then the Terrier Inbounds from the funds received will tell us alot about where the club is heading.
Will selling those 3 open the door for 4 or 5 'quality' signings or will it be 1 or 2??
It should be 4 or 5

I am sure he will be off…and I’m sure we will add a lot of clauses for potential international experiences* and sell on fees (as a prem player, if he doesnt cut the mustard in the PL, almost guaranteed he will be sold for more than they bought him for to a high championship side. There’s no way he should be sold for the quoted 6m IMO. Young and English, 2 years on his contract, it should be around the 10m mark
*Not saying he’s anywhere near that level, but look what Bielsa has done with previously struggling players eg Phillips.

PH took the club on and choose to clear all the debts covid slowed it down DH is stilled owed money. Loads of clubs have gone through this clearing players out is not that easy given the wages they are paid we are getting there.

He sold it on to a fan who i think has the best interests of the club at heart. He may not share your view of what "should" happen according to the Potless Zombies who have lost the will to enjoy life and smile occasionally. Happy clappers are not a bad thing they are good and spread joy unlike the joyless brigade of about 30 who wouldn't know a good thing if it they fell over it.

So the club struggles not the owner that made the mistakes. He made those mistakes completely risk free. That is a good deal, play football manager with the clubs money, borrow £30million from the bank even though you have over £100milliion from the pl each season. Great great chairman. Set up a deal to sell that means all player sales, and parachute money goes to you and the dross you signed the club can’t get rid of kill the clubs ability to compete. Great great chairman. You can do all this and a few fans will still think you are great , even insult others that now see you as what you are. I used to think he was great, I don’t know how a fan that enjoyed the ride and spent small amounts until the premiere league can leave the club so hamstrung by his mistakes.

FFS we got promoted and we had to spend money just like many clubs do and use loans thats the way of the world and DH as yet to get the monies the guy gladly put in and will never get anywhere near the coin he stumped up over the years PH will probably walk away someday with more than DH stands to get. When you get relegated teams are left with a massive headache paying out large wages and until we clear the decks we have to take the pain. And we are not down and out and seem to be over the worst hopefully we can move forward.

If we can get £6m for O'Brien I think that's a good deal. Especially if we get a sell on clause added, which I'm sure we will.
As I've mentioned before, it'll be interesting to see what happens if O'Brien, Mbenza & Bacuna are all sold.
It looks like the plan was to sell Mbenza and Bacuna and bring 2 quality players in with that money.
What will be interesting to see is what happens with the O'Brien money.
Does the majority of it go on running costs and paying off outstanding liabilities, with only a small amount being invested back into the squad.
Or are we able to use it to bring in 2 more quality players on top of what we bring in with the Mbenza & Bacuna money (I think they'll both be sold in this window).
If we can sell those 3 and bring in 4 quality additions, then that would be a great bit of business and indicate the club is in a reasonably healthy financial position and the player trading model is working as it is hoped
If we sell all 3 and still only bring in 2 quality additions, it would be worrying.
Let's see what the next few weeks bring

I remember when we were asked if we would take Mowatt if we sold O Brien. Now that ship has sailed I fully expect a player of equal ilk.

If not to get fees why bother? Yes but we can still sell now, even if it’s just a free with sell-on clause. And I’m pretty sure they will both go before the window is out.
