According to the newspaper "O Dia" the negotiations have advanced, and Lázaro, from Flamengo, is close to getting it right with Huddersfield.
The club's idea is for a 1-year loan, with an option to purchase 60% of the economic rights for 3 million euros (about R $ 20 million)
The fact that Flamengo has a very qualified squad and full of outstanding players means that the club is not able to take advantage of players that are considered promises of the base category. This is the case of the attacking midfielder Lázaro, currently in the Under-20, but who is close to leaving Rubro-Negro to play in English football. Huddersfield showed interest in the jewel, advanced in the negotiation and is close to hiring him.
Huddersfield's interest in Lázaro is old and started in January, when the same English club tried to sign Lincoln, but at the time, the talks did not evolve. In recent weeks, representatives of the team competing for the Championship have called the agents of the attacking midfielder again, and the talks have heated up again.

"O Dia" seriously? Oh dear!
Yes I know it's probably straight up and translates to Today or similar but it made me wonder all the same.

I stopped watching about 3 min in. My thoughts were that the speed twins had better video clips that this guy's.
He looks good with the ball at his feet comfortable but due to his lack of first team goals we are watching junior or under ?? age games.
I an not sure on the clause "with an option to purchase 60% of the economic rights for 3 million euros". Remember the issues that West Ham got in to with Carlos Tevez, It dose not sound the same but we would not want to end up trouble for not following the rules.

Think examiner has said while there is interest and definitely interest in that market that negotiations have not taken place as the article might state.still exciting to be linked all the same.

Fairly sure in saying that it will mean we own him outright, but that the selling club will receive 40% of any sale price (or maybe profit of any sale)

Sounds pricier than I'd expect for us.

Can we even bring this guy over considering the rules around visas and number of “points” required etc?
Should be the first thought when reviewing any rumour of international signings as that might write it off straight away.

I believe it’s easier for South American’s to gain such points as they near enough get the full quota if just names in a squad for their version of the champions league.

A very strange thing happened. Watching this and listening to my varied and extremely cultured iTunes library, I discovered that, A Shot in the Dark by Henri Mancini is the perfect soundtrack to accompany this video clip.

Maybe I’m missing something, but looking at that video, what’s the difference between this Lazaro guy and, say, the highly rated Diarra in the Town academy? Lazaro clearly has talent, but on the video is playing against youngsters, on academy (or equivalent in Brazil) pitches, with no fans. It might be easy to look like a real talent in that case, but so what? He runs around a lot, controlling the ball well but often just meandering about, not really going anywhere, or creating things. Reminds me of Bacuna.
I just don’t see it with this link. It doesn’t seem a good match for Town, in my opinion.

Agree we need a few players mid 20s with a bit of experience and knowhow of championship level football. All for getting in good promising players but need some experience and not the over the hill Keogh, elphik types.

Give them a go at Reading, nowt to lose

I’d like nothing better than in a year or so’s time to be back on here eating large portions of humble pie because he’s turned out to be a brilliant signing but 19 years old and from South America? Would doubt if it ends any better than when we took a punt on Zico, the Thai version of David Beckham.

You'd have to think if we're looking at him, we're looking at others too. Bring at least a couple over so they aren't on their own 🤷

You’d need to treat this as a shot to nothing type signing, fantastic if it comes off but can’t rely on it. A teenager from Brazil moving to Huddersfield, no ties and expecting him to slot straight in.
But if we sign him he’d probably be the marquee signing and would take up a chunk of the budget. Far too risky.

Seems a clever workaround for Town. We couldn't get players from Brazil and others pre Brexit. However the rule change means we can
It seems other clubs haven't yet capitalised on this new opportunity so Town getting in early could steal a march on there rivals and get some decent value

Expect high interest on anyone who even appears remotely capable of making the move.

As exciting as Town being linked with a Brazilian striker is, I wonder if this is a bit too risky for everyone involved. Young lad, limited professional experience, coming into a foreign club in fairly dire straits, hardly a recipe for success. And on Town's end we seem to have a lot of 'ones for the future' (High, Daly, Thomas, Diarra etc) and I'm sure he won't be cheap (Transfermarkt has him down at £1.8mil). I hope I'm wrong but I can't see this one working out.

Is this a sign maybe that Phil has found some money from somewhere Tbf with over £40m in transfer fees & over £60m in parachute payments over the last two seasons, even after paying back bank loans, DH & wages, we should still have money to spend. Yes we've had Covid-19 to deal with but over the last two seasons the club have still sold over 25k season cards & had the best selling shirt in our history so if there's no money to spend something really dodgy has happened.
