Personally I think LOB will go but that's all but no-one really knows yet. Are the club in talks with Ajax to bring Eiting back on loan or permanent? I'd love to see him back, but you'd presume with his injury record it would be too risky on a permanent. Doubt he'd accept a pay as you play. So another loan would be the only option. Can't really see him been quick enough or athletic enough for pure carlosball.

Eiting was good, but incredibally leightweight, had 18 months off at Ajax the year before, and 6 months off with us. That many injuries so young, no thanks.

If we keep Vallejo I think it could be him and Hogg, with Lazaro or someone else as a no.10. Club is probably waiting to see what we can get for LOB I suppose.

I think that "pure carlosball" is looking dead anyway, based on the forwards we have and reputed to be after. It may be that our recruitment team don't understand the requirements to play this way?

Would Eiting want to be scrapping round at the foot of the English second tier? Would imagine he’s more ambitious than that.

Let's see what the recruitment team can deliver in this window. The first half of the season we had 31 points & sat comfortably mid table. The second half of the season we got 18 points & just about kept our heads above water. Yes injuries to key players & burn out played a big factor in the final 23 games but the lack of squad depth/quality was massively exposed, we can't allow that to happen again. The recruitment needs to be much better & money will need to be spent.

How did we sell it to him last year? The guy has played champions league football. Much as I’d like to decide which players play for us my opinion doesn’t make a single iota of difference.

The deal has hit a snag.
Big Phil was too tight to pay for an interpreter and Flamengo are growing tired of him shouting down the phone very loudly, and very slowly, in a broad Yorkshire accent with the odd ‘comprendez amigo?’ thrown in.

Big Phil also ended a call to Flamengo’s president with the phrase ‘muchos gracias penis’, which didn’t go down well.
He thought it was Portuguese for ‘ta very much cock’ but apparently it isn’t.
As you can see, I’m as in the loop as TownRWe.

The possible transfer of Lazaro to Town was discussed on Talksport today by South American football expert Tim Vickery. This was on the Hawksbee and Rushden show. Unfortunately I only caught the last few words of it. You can probably listen to it again by rewinding on Talksport app.

Oh, and the little snide jibe around the culture shock of Brazil to Huddersfield. 2hours 28 mins into the listen back

With Eiting, would we even be allowed to sign him permanently if we wanted to? Can't see him getting through on the points system as he's not a full international and too old to be playing at youth level regularly like Pipa. But yeah Bromby's fault

Town need to get a move on here & finalise a decision (if they already haven't) - if we want him, get it done, otherwise we run the risk of someone else getting him now it's quite obviously in the open.
For me, it'd be a brave move risking a young kid from a different continent as one of our "big" spends but it could also be a masterstroke.

Just being devil's advocate, haven't you sort of contradicted yourself there? You've suggested it's a risky move, so surely it then right to make sure it fits in with the budgets etc, so if it does not pay off, we haven't lost too much. So maybe shouldn't be rushing in, and take time with the negotiations and due diligence. If we lose out, so be it. Maybe the "get a move on" approach was the one we employed with Diakhaby and Mbenza.

But yeah Bromby's fault I don't have a clue about the details of the rules but could he qualify as being resident before Brexit kicked in, similar to Vallejo, Corberán and the coaches who presumably would no longer qualify if being taken directly from a job abroad?

Yes, I totally agree with what you are saying, I would like to think the due diligence (as much as it can be) was done before anyone on here had ever heard of him, now it's out in the open we need to get him, or not, & for all I know, they might have decided against him, or signed him.

It’s taking the while to look down the back of every sofa in the corporate boxes for the funds required to cover the fee.

What’s that weird stuff about loaning him with an option to buy 60% of him? That’s not allowed is it ?!

Talking of potentially tapping into the Brazilian market, if money was no object (meaning we actually had a little bit of money). It would be a no brainer to go for someone of the ilk of Jean Pyerre from Gremio. I've been fortunate to watch him a few times with a few Brazilian friends of mine who follow Gremio (granted they've been on TV), but the kid is different gravy. Creative, sees passes I didn't think was possible, composed and technically quality. If there was ever a time to go for him before he hit the upper echelons of the game it could be now, depending on what our contacts are like, and a bit of backing.
