No guarantee that they're going to be great additions but I thought this was quite interesting.
Total appearances of five outgoing players (Elphick, Brown, Duhaney, Pereira, Sanogo) = 650
Total appearances of five signed so far (assuming Ruffels signs) = 1600
Thats a lot of experience added to the squad and hopefully they can continue avoiding injuries like they appear to have done until now

The fact that we're getting deals done so early (I can't remember us ever announcing 4 players by early June before) shows that we are signing our first choices and have planned these for a while. I suspect in the past couple of seasons that hasn't always been the case which is why we've ended up with some dross.
Whether they turn out to be good signings or not, we'll have to wait and see, but the signs are reassuring.

All we need now is a week on a remote Swedish island with no mobile phones and promotion is nailed on I had a beer with a big Leeds fan other day, he (as have many others) always ask me how is Corberan getting on?. The conversation naturally heads to Bielsa and how he has in so many cases made silk purses out of sows ears (Stuart Dallas, on his way out a couple of seasons back for probably if lucky the £500k they paid for him and now most fans Player of the season in the great season they had in the Premier League FFS). Team spirit is coursing through that Club and whilst let's face it. Corberan has been overall dissapointing so far, he has to have learned something working under Bielsa that he has or will adopt here that will pull through for us. And I hope it is making 'average' Players perform to levels even they didn't know they could. Bonding on a remote Island?, would be a good start in terms of Team spirit!.

A large chunk of the 650 total appearances mentioned in the OP will have been Elphick alone, so this is an even better comparison with the new recruits.

Ages:
Nicolls is 28. Ruffles is 27. Rhodes is 31. Turton is 28. Pearson is 27.
Brown is 22. Duhaney is 22. Pereira is 24. Elphick is 33. Sanogo is 28.
Over than the strikers, we’re replacing players at the start or end of their careers with those in their prime, and we don’t have lots of players in that key late 20s band.

Seriously the first thing I’d do if I was manager would be to ban the players from using social media

Yeah, I think getting players at the right age is key for squad building and it's something we did a really bad job of the last few seasons. Too much emphasis on trying to give young players a chance, then when they weren't up to it, panicking and bringing in a veteran. Signing the players we have/are about to means we don't need to completely overhaul the squad every window and can hopefully focus on making the improvements that push us up the table in the next few

I would say we have signed experienced solid mature players who have been around the block and know what its all about. Probably very good wages for them, but a big reduction overall to us. The signing if Pipa, Toffolo Vallejo suggests you can get talent at a reasonable price. Overall the signings look promising and has been said great they are over the line so early. PH has stated the club has to be sustainable and if these signings fit that bill I think we will do ok next year. Top 10 would do me.

Your overall point is a good one getting the balance right is not easy but for me we are starting to look stronger overall but of course things can change but ph is doing the right thing and we should let them get on with it we are not in a great position but far better than many in what will be a great and demanding championship I don't make predictions been in the game too long for that but inm sure we can be competitive with a bit of luck which everyone needs

Seriously the first thing I’d do if I was manager would be to ban the players from using social media You can't have a ban on social media, don't think it would go down well. You can ban it on game days however, if that's what you meant? Day and age, younger players enjoy it and interact, banning it would be a bit draconian, so some would think. Think banning it on game days and immersing themselves in the days task though is fair. No phones full stop from either travelling to away games or arriving for meals for home games. Ultimate bonding and talking on away games and for home games, get to know each player inside out. That shit was lacking last season, looked like some didn't know each other

Pleased to see we’ve got a few defensive signings in quickly. Appears we are focusing on their personality too, which carried us a long way under Wagner. No idea if Carlos puts the pieces together, but if we can get some difference makers in central midfield and the top end of the pitch we should do better.

Without looking it up I would imagine the incoming players will be ten times more even with. player less.

With the above stats such an eye opener, if the injury ‘curse’ resurfaces in 2021/22 then surely it’s gotta be a training ground issue rather than the normal maiming of Town’s players which is usually worst against Preston North End...

All we need now is a week on a remote Swedish island with no mobile phones and promotion is nailed on And a bald Aussie That season we got free hungry players and a big money signing in Schindler then quality in loans ie mooy palmer,Izzy later on. If we can get near that quality of loan to complement the graft we will be ok.

Its just a case of trying to persuade them to come to us

None of that squad, with the possible exception of Mooy, have gone on to better things.

Otium won't want to hear it, but Billing had another season in EPL after our relegation, and it wouldn't be unsurprising to me if he got another gig there.

I wouldn't class Billing as part of that promotion season. He really broke through the following season. The team for me was Ward Smith Loewe Hogg Schindler Hefele/Hudson Kachunga Mooy Wells Palmer/Brown Van La Parra

There doesn't seem to be a Squad 21/22 Thread yet so...
I'm happy with the signings so far, I'd describe them as solid. It seems like there's been a mantra shift and instead of taking what we can get we're actively looking for:
1. 25-30 year olds 2. Consistent performers 3. Good injury and appearance record 4. Out of contract 5. Suits style of play
Kinda feels like this is how it should be done anyway but credit where it's due if these are the back-up players as has been mooted, then exciting things to come in the summer. I just hope we can move on Bacuna and Mbenza.
It'll also be interesting to see what happens with Reece Brown.
With respect to opening stats, I think we're comparing apples and pears but I understand the point OP is making.

Need to reserve judgement! Presumably the coach and recruitment team have jointly identified these lads and they are hungry to develop further. If not then no point in the coach being here for me - phil has gone out on a limb for carlos. Can they now make it work?

I like the optimism, but all it really shows is how shit we have been in previous windows of the past couple of years that people are impressed. They are building a team of free transfers and players that have been released from teams around us or below us.
Unless some quality is added then roll on another relegation battle.
