Me gripe here bud Remove the terminally ill. It's not right tbh I wrote that to emphasize (for those that didn't know) the fact that we were banning a poster who only has a short time to live. Whether I was right or wrong matters less than the despicable decision (imo) to deny the bloke a chance to spend his last few weeks/months discussing/debating/arguing the ways of the world with his fellow Town supporters. I could edit the question if it was possible but I don't think it can be done, as I've asked this question before and an admin didn't know how to. |

Just to clarify for anyone in any doubt, this is a poll that will not result in any change to the decision from rhe admin team. Feel free to vote but it is a purely academic process. Still can't work out how two admins have become judge, jury and executioners on here. I liked Otium, no idea what he said, because like many others I barely post anymore because the site has been ruined by snowflakes. Maybe the admins should have an independent adjudication panel to to analyse and ratify their decisions. Anyway the admin is overbearing on this site, life bans for Leeds fans only. I would imagine a week off for most would be sufficient for the alcohol to pass the system and for them to be moderate again. Otiums mental health must be on the floor, illness, coming out of lockdown and then limited life expectancy and then you drive another nail in. It's the gestapos decision but can't say I necessarily agree whatever has gone on. Maybe an amnesty is required on the good old posters like Nick etc and bring them back into the fresh start and the new season. |

Much as I would like to see Otium reinstated, I am not going to vote. Otium cannot be reinstated as the rules currently stand. You have created the wrong poll. You should have asked - Should we dispense with life bans - and instead have ever increasing periods of banishment. Please feel free to create such a poll. Mine will be a big fat YES Get Nick back! |

Yes, most definitely, i've known Otium for over 40 years and i know whose posts i would rather read on here and its certainly not the posts of the odious, self important big daddy g and his legion of bullies. Disagree with them and you get banned, smacks of MCarthyism, Hitlers Germany and Stalinist Russia and todays social media cancel culture. Hitler's Germany? Stalinist Russia? Oh dear! If 2 of you folks very much disliked someone, there is zero hope for that person. One cock up and you'd be doing what you can to rid you of that annoyance. I'm merely on the out looking in. It doesn't get away from any racism that may have happened, but deciding who to life off a football site being decided by 3 people with rules seemingly made to their own taste, is a bit shit. But in fairness, it isn't my site. As we are all Town fans, some fat some skinny, some tall, some small and in a pretty shit time at the moment, it would be good for an admin to maybe be a leader and privately message him, addressing his wrongs and getting a point across. Booting someone off and having pages of discussion about it doesn't work at all. Like I say, not my site. Could be a better outcome however. |

Thought carefully about whether to post this or not. Anyone who knows me or my posting history on here will see that I never post anything inflamatory or anything really that could be construed as controversial, other than of the 'this player is absolute rubbish' type. This post should not be taken as a call to reinstate Otium, Nick or anyone else who has received a permanent ban. I would just like it to ask for it to be made clear in this case why he was banned.
On the admin thread it states:
otium (EPBS) - Permanent Ban. Final warning breached with the last reported post containing homophobic content, again. 2/2 Admins agreed in favour of the ban - 3rd forced to abstain due to being involved in the 'conversation'.
I believe Otium had racked up 5 previous yellow cards, putting him one offence away from a permanent ban, a fact which he was surely aware of. Was the final offence a yellow or red card? The log entry does not make this clear. I have read through the forum rules carefully and am not sure which section and sub-section this transgression falls under. I just feel that when someone receives a permanent ban, there is a need for a bit more clarity as to why it was handed down in accordance with the rules of the forum as they are written.

This is a football forum. A natural comparison. Justifying a red card on a football forum by comparing it to a red card in a football match is bizarre. Although yes, I do understand the tenuous links between the two. Steady on that post could of broke someone's leg,possibly end their career |

But that's irrelevant. If someone was shown a red card in a football match and the game was stopped to poll the crowd, it would be laughable. One admin won't base it off this however, but will stick to rules made by one or all 3 of the admins . You can't make it up
