Much as I would like to see Otium reinstated, I am not going to vote. Otium cannot be reinstated as the rules currently stand. You have created the wrong poll. You should have asked - Should we dispense with life bans - and instead have ever increasing periods of banishment.

There are several posters who have been banned for life. I'm not aware of any social media platform that doesn't have such a possible consequence for habitual rule breakers. If you can show us a model that works in practice that doesn't have a lifetime ban, I'm happy to discuss it with the other admins, but I'm pretty certain none exist that are workable. There has to come a time when enough is enough. |

Yes, most definitely, i've known Otium for over 40 years and i know whose posts i would rather read on here and its certainly not the posts of the odious, self important big daddy g and his legion of bullies. Disagree with them and you get banned, smacks of MCarthyism, Hitlers Germany and Stalinist Russia and todays social media cancel culture.

How do you think I manage to control these two puppets, pray tell? If you saw the sheer number of posts of Oti's that have been reported and had no action taken over the years you'd realise just what utter hogwash this comment is. There has to come a time when enough is enough. How do you have knowledge of all social media platfoms? I suggest a scale of banning. A week, then a month, then 3 months. then 6 months then a year. If after a year offences are still being committed then fair enough. Also, the yellows should not stick with you for life. Otium has been posting on here for over a decade. Get a yellow, and then if you have stayed clean for say 6 months, that yellow goes away and you start on a clean slate. |

Power trip What are the rules anyway. Not having a go at admins but it does seem rules are as they personally seem fit. Nick annoyed folk but did it warrant a life ban or was that cos an admin disliked him so much. He talked wet but jesus a life ban. Seems a bit strong. If I've missed rules sorry, but a set need to be on. Stick to it and not make as you see fit being an admin. Isn't directed at any and please correct me if I've missed anything or a post please |
