It’s gone very quiet on this lad?? Next B team match is Tuesday I think - hoping he gets minutes. Both player and club being cautious. Been a torrid and horrible year for the kid so can’t blame them.

Somebody on Twatter complaining about how unfair all the criticism (🤔) of Thomas is compared to what O'B and Toff get. He then starts slating Danny Grant, for some reason, apparently the hamstrings, the covid, the long covid and pneumonia are all his fault because he might've got a tattoo 🤨.

Saw that myself that bloke is an absolute helmet does nothing but moan and from what i can see doesnt even go to many games . The block button is definitely appealing with that particular user.

I see that bloke all over Twitter moaning about town. Surprised he even follows the team. Just lays into everyone associated with the club and argues with anyone who thinks otherwise

Do you have any update on how he’s doing atm? Think I’ve seen him named in a couple of B team games.

His reply was basically High was shit and not good enough for the Championship. So it appears it's ok to slate players, just not the one he's knocking one out over 😁

Jordan Rhodes as well I think. I'd love to see them both on the bench at Barnsley

He is not a RWB. His specialty is cutting in from the left and getting shots off. He’s absolutely rapid but can finish as well. I’d be disappointed if we never see him play in the front three and he’s confined to wing back. Kid has never played there before signing for Town.

I have a feeling Grant will be a great asset, the poor lad has had no luck whatsoever, he also comes over well with a great attitude.

Forgive me if i'm wrong but this is the first time he's been put there? It's probably to get minutes into his legs and with a team containing two strikers, Aarons, Koroma it would be hard to get him into a traditional front 3 so to speak The club will know his best position and strength

Odubeko quiet too, again. Etienne Camara gets better every game. Oh, and Danny Grant played first half and was outstanding.“ So maybe I’m wrong and he can play there. But I just think from what I’ve seen at Bohs and Ireland U21s his best position is LW.

I bet the lad is just chuffed to be playing again. The B team often seems to play players out of their normal positions, maybe to help them get a better overall football brain?

Worthington seems to have that total football policy going on- was noticeable when he was coaching the age groups that he'd play them out of position quite often.

IIRC, this time last year Sorba Thomas had only ever played on the wing & considered cutting in from the left wing as his greatest strength. Koroma was considered to be a CF as well I think.
As others have said, getting minutes into players' legs & giving them experience of different positions to develop their game might have been the priority. There were A LOT of attacking players on the pitch today. Presumably the ones closest to the first team will have been the ones prioritised for playing in their favoured position.

That’s actually a common misperception - Sorba played wingback more often than on the wing for BW.

As you say he’s got to be chuffed to be playing again in any sort of position I guess it’s going to take him a long time to get up to speed abs we have to be patient with him - anything this season likely a bonus We know Carlos isn’t exactly forward in bringing younger players forward quickly - See Thomas, see High - so expect he’ll need a fair bit of time to get fit then get past that hurdle

Although TBH there are a few players that I'd like to see get more game time, or at least opportunities from the bench. Diarra, Camara, Grant, Russell, Shanks, Jones, Harratt...

Is the Irish league really lower than the Conference 🤔 Hahaha, no chance. Could you see Boreham Wood taking Videoton to penalties and beating PAOK?! The League of Ireland is underrated by many. It’s probably similar to lower half League One in my opinion.

TBH I've no idea about the quality of the Irish league, although if Jake Carroll excelled there then that suggests to me that it's not the highest standard.
Of course, even if the standard is truly dreadful (& I'm not saying it is) that doesn't mean Danny Grant isn't a good player.
