Still a reasonable chance Mbenza will be gone in the next few days. He seems to have remembered he's a footballer Disclaimer: This is the opinion of Maynardblue based on information gathered from a trusted source and does not reflect the views of Huddersfield Town AFC or any of its employees π That's quite funny when you think about it. Waits until our Transfer window closes and then starts looking for a move to a club where the transfer window is still open. Pretty clever way to get one over on a club that has treated you pretty shabbily over the last 3 seasons. Not all bad for the club though. If we can get some money in and put it into the pot for January it could be interesting if we are in a similar league position to what we are now. I believe he's been training with the B team during the last week

So I thought "who is this guy . Has he always been like this " RANDOMLY chose a historical post from the past for more info which was ...
"Ishmael Miller
more shrewd business from Town. the big guy we've been calling for with a better scoring record than many of that ilk "
AH ok then

Not sure how we've treated him shabbily for 3 years. We've kept our side of the arrangement-- paying him an enormous amount of money. Hes the one who hasn't kept his side-- providing us with something resembling a decent footballer.

Purely from conversations I've had with him and others, my opinion is that he's been treated shabbily. Agreed he's not been the model professional, however, when your employer treats you in a poor manner, then you probably don't perform your best at your job. Anyway, hopefully he'll get a move in a few days and we wont need to comment on him on these boards again.

Difficult now for the club. They have a player on a high wage they donβt want and who doesnβt want to be here. My guess is we will see a βcontract terminated by mutual consentβ and he ends up as a free, which would probably have been his choice if Town hadnβt taken the option to extend, plus he gets a payout.
It was an odd thing to do. He has shown he wonβt be pushed in a direction he doesnβt want to go but Town still tried to claw some money back. I donβt know if what we make on Bacuna will cover what we will lose on Mbenza but I hope the club take stock and take a more pragmatic approach if we end up here again, which hopefully we donβt.

Even if his contract was terminated now, he can't sign for a club where the window is shut. His contract would have had to have been terminated before 11pm 31st August.

Iβm happy with squad. The quality could be higher but think weβve got the right number players in the right positions. See where we are in January.

Does that apply to French and Belgium clubs as well? As far as I know it's a world wide rule. Otherwise, I'm sure a decent player would suddenly get their contract terminated when one of top clubs in the world is suddenly short of a player outside the transfer window.

Guys, can we ramp this down now please. I understand people have very differing views but I think we all need to just accept that and cut the personal abuse out. Time to let this one go on all sides.

I think Mbenzaβs relationship with Carlos, and I hope most of the other players, will not have changed. His relationship with the fans will be a tough one though. If he is still our player I would like him to be given a chance in what is an exciting group of attackers. He could possibly play in a two with Mipo Odubeko or behind a single striker similar to the way Bacuna has played. If this happens I just hope fans give him a chance. He is a talented player and it would be a shame to waste that. But thats the thing - he isn't......if he was he would be included on matchdays and have been snapped up by another club on loan allowing an option to buy when his contract runs out. We are stuck and he is getting obscene amounts of money to do nothing.

Fourth in the table, a decent window and DATMers have managed to find something else to kick off about. What would it be if we ever won the Champions League. We would give Mbenza a five year deal on 400k a week as he scored a 40 yard screamer from a free-kick in the 94th min to win the game against Barcelona ?

I do get the impression of a few things going on behind the scenes at particular junctures- summer 2019, Cowleys appointment, about February last season, etc
