So if we don't sell Mbenza by Tuesday night, will he come back into the squad? We're paying his wages and he is a very good player. Anyone know the likely situation? From reading what CC said he said even if he dosent get sold he wont be playing as mbenza has made it known to the club he wants to leave and CC wont want him in the squad hes already stated he wants players playing that are here to stay that will be considered only Ok, thanks. I'd not heard that.

Thereβs more chance of Simon Baldry playing for us again than Mbenza. So you are not ruling it out. π

His agent isnβt stupid. Any fee we are hoping to receive Mbenza would obviously rather have himself. Weβre in a terrible negotiating position and he knows it.

I'll be honest, I don't get it. A blood sucking agent wants his player to move, to get a slice of the fee. So, they need them to accept an offer or at least play to enhance their value and move elsewhere later.

I think he just needs to sit on his arse for a few months and then he can sign a pre-contract agreement with someone. He gets a fat signing-on fee rather than Town getting a transfer fee.

Give me Thomas any day of the week. At least Sorba wants to play unlike this toerag and his over-inflated ego. The point being we could gave both, if we don't sell. Mbenza was excellent until playing with injury last season, in my view. Not heard anyone who has met or actually knows the lad criticising his attitude. All about opinion as ever Sykeylad - you feel he's been "excellent" - fair enough, we'll agree to differ. For me Mbenza, Diakhaby and Pritchard represent so much that was wrong with our club - in terms of performances, apparent attitudes and costs at every level.

Why would you turn down Olympiakos, your guaranteed European football, a great climate. Maybe he thinks he his too good for them and is waiting for Man City or PSG to come in for him.

If the club looked at Mbenza and Bacuna as a package to offload, then Bacuna's fee allegedly Β£1.5m will approximately cover Mbenza's wages (I expect). On that basis, club can allow him to rot in the reserves for a year, and therefore negotiating stance is strong. If Mbenza does not play for a year, his negotiating stance with a new club will be much weakened. Depends on how you look it, I suppose.

He's turned down moves already, for more pay.... not sure what he's holding out for unless he will only play in a big league.

That's sort of where I was coming from originally Bluestripe. If the Bacuna sale sseen as a bonus, as we could have let them both go for nowt, and we can't sell Mbenza why not simply play him? Wages paid by Bacuna. The lad can play excellent cover for Sorba Wonder.

Thereβs more chance of Simon Baldry playing for us again than Mbenza. He must be due a new contract soon which was always when he turned it on for a few months. Could be an option off the bench!

Simply because I find that statement almost unbelievable Sykeylad - do you genuinely believe that Mbenza "would get into just about every match day squad in this league" or is it just a wind-up ? If you do rate him that highly why have no other clubs "in this league" (or lower) come in for him ?

Championship sides haven't been buying many players have they. There's been a pandemic in case you have not noticed. He was joint 10th with assists in the league, in a poor side and injured 2nd half. Excellent with free kicks. Pace. He'd be excellent in a good team.

Also, if he was not a saleable asset (because he is a very good young player) we would not have triggered his contract extension. We would have let him go, like we did with Pritchard.

Yes true he could be a option off the bench but dont you think he would be on the bench by now! at the end of the day CC dosent want him in or around the team hense why he isent anywhere near the starting line up or on the bench and like some others have said think bridges on both sides are burnt. Mbenza has already informed the club he wants to leave so really why would you want him in the team anyway!!! he dosent want to play for us so he can piss off! CC has sated he only wants players in his team that want to play for the club if you dont you stay away until the matter is resolved. seems pretty simple to me!

So someone else said, if so, fair enough (except we are paying his wages to play). I recall Carlos said he was not being considered due to uncertainty to his future. We all know that meant we are trying to sell him and rightly so, if he's on too much money for our budget. Until now never heard it reported he said he didn't want to play though.

Surely he gets a move. Lot of big talk around negotiations, but his agent would be a fool to leave him sat at home for a year. Kills his next move off completely.

He's not Campbell-slow but you won't be able to find any evidence that he is pacy. He quite simply isn't. In my view he has not produced even a fraction of what he ahould have done for the money.I think you'll agree (blame his, er, injuries?)- he has at best been a disappointment, at worst an absolute waste of an awful lot of money. He's, literally, a millionaire and we're lumbered with someone that very few people want.

I can see him staying me, if we can't get him out by now something is wrong, thought he was good last season mbenza but yet again another player with a shite attitude, if he comes out and says he wants to play and won't act like a kid if we lose or gets sub off (pretty much a apology) I'm okay with it but surely get him out and the funds will go towards a new playerπ€π
