Thanks for the brief reply Paul… 😁
I’ll still hold the same views about your owners, but can’t really fault the fan base you have up there. Just don’t get sucked into hype of the PL and become another bunch of plastic fans, though I suspect there’s a different mentality between Geordies and Mancs, apart from those Geordie Shore feckwits….

Hi Paul , Enjoy your posts on here so many thanks. Could I ask for your thoughts/opinion on Rolando Aarons …… we signed the lad from Newcastle what seems like an age ago now and due to multiple injuries we haven’t seen anything like enough of him to know if he is a good player or not ……. I know he didn’t play vast amounts in your first team but did you see enough of him to give an opinion ? Thanks. Sorry, I can't really give you a good answer here, but what you've posted sounds about right from what I can remember. He was brilliant in pre season when he first arrived as a youngster, and made a very promising start, very quick, direct, and skilful, and he burst on to the scene quickly in the league as well, and we were all thinking he'd no doubt be sold for vast amounts in 12 or 18 months if he kept that up, but possibly story of his career, he got injured and was out for a while, possibly rushed back too soon, injured again, and barely featured for the rest of the season, and that's kind of as good as it got for him here. I knew he had a lot of loans, but was stunned to see that he was actually still on our books as little as 16 months ago. Sounds like a player who had huge potential, and had a lot of people excited up here, but injuries have really held him back, but hopefully he can still rectify something at Town, because he's not actually as old as I thought he was.

Thanks for your reply Paul.
Yes agreed in that he had/still has huge potential but injuries have literally stopped him in his tracks , we have simply no idea what we have with Rolando …… maybe it’s written in the stars that he makes a very late resurrection in his Town career and comes on as a sub in the playoff final to fire in the winner to take us up to the premier league 😁😁😁……… if so I will buy you a pint when we meet your Newcastle next season 🙏

Rolando or Ronaldo?
It’s a bit like that time the Blades had the chance to go for 1 of 2 young Argentinians, and they chose Alex Sabella over Maradona…

Looks like someone forgot that Bob Stokoe played for Newcastle. Will be spending a lot of time indoors for a while I bet.

Money and football eh.
Without the beheading blood money that has somehow propelled Eddie Howe in to being some sort of great Manager (how many wins was it Eddie before the cheque book arrived?).
It would be Newcastle vs Sunderland this next season.
Anyway, I am pleased for Sunderland, a proper Club that has not sold their soul unlike that shower of shit up the road from them.

Perhaps look at their starting 11s before claiming that it's purely signings which kept them up. Most games have had 8 players in the starting 11 who were there when Howe took over He's done a cracking job, simple as that.

Morley's bang on to be fair. Howe doing a great job is an absolute myth. He's had Bruno and Trippier on the pitch together at the same time for 22 whole minutes, almost a quarter of a game, plus a top class Premier League striker with 65 (New Zealand) caps, as well as the renowned Dan Burn and Matty Targett. To only get 35 points from his last 18 games is pretty shocking for the colossal £93m he spent - it's not even 2 points per game FFS. If you're spending unheard of money like that then he really should be a lot nearer Liverpool and Man City. No excuses. Total joke that he's up for Manager of the Season as well. Attachment Deleted

Newcastle have always been a massively supported club. A club that should have won a lot more honors than they have. However whatever they achieve now is going to be tainted in my opinion. Just like Man City they never won anything until the massive influx of foreign cash.

Just like Man City they never won anything until the massive influx of foreign cash. Do you feel the same about .. Liverpool (American cash ) Man u (American cash ) Chelsea (Russian cash ) Leicester (Malaysian cash) Arsenal (American/Russian cash ) Etc etc etc Fair enough there are a couple of clubs still run by largely UK based concerns . For example West Ham ( porno cash ) Brentford (gambling cash ) Norwich (shit cooking programmes and books cash ) The "good old days" of clubs being owned by Bob Bosomworth the Brisket Butcher are way in the past . A bit like the invention of the internet there is no going back

To be fair, I will correct myself in that Newcastle do have a a lot of good supporters including Paulow (ignoring though the numpties wandering around in Saudi attire).
They have not had much to cheer over the years and actually, if they won the Premier League?. They will have bought it the same as Man City have. So no difference whatsoever.
I just hope that we never get taken over by this sort of level of money and become somebodies toy.
Success is finishing third in the table having spent a pittance. Success in footballing terms in my opinion is clubs like Rotherham who consistently over-achieve on a low budget and get promoted.

One simple solution...a wages cap. paying players £400,000 per WEEK , or even £125,000 per GOAL...is not only insane but the ramifications of this has filtered through the entire game, and not in a good way.

Why couldn’t the European Super League just have got going. Why?. I was gutted when it collapsed. I wanted all these Clubs to piss off (taking all the money sloshing around at the highest level in the game with them) and leave a much more honest and sustainable product behind as a result. It would have been a long journey, but it would have been the start in terms of getting some sort of sustainability in the English game if the money wasn’t there because the European League was taking it all. Salaries gradually dropping, parasite agents fees saved for the European Super League Clubs, Clubs eventually then being able to stand on their own two feet rather than rely on subsidies. May be one day!.

Lovefest, there's like 2 or 3 who have good words to say, and the rest, not so much, ha.
It's safe to say though, it's been an incredible second half to the season:
First 19 games, P19 W1 D8 L10 PTS 11
Second half, P19 W12 D2 L5 PTS 38
11th placed finish, which could work in Eddie's favour. They are obviously just numbers and there wasn't much at all between 9th and 14th, but if we finish 9th or 10th next season, especially if it's a solid 9th or 10th like Wolves this season with no relegation worries all season, then that's progress, whereas had we finished say 9th this season, there'd have been some thinking anything less than 7th next season was failure.
