Amanda 'Uncle' Staveley's statement, referenced earlier, that, "Newcastle United deserve to be top of the Premier League." is a clear message, to those eejit level Toon supporters with an exaggerated sense of their historic importance, without promising anything spectacular happening soon. "Deserve" my arse. The scenes outside the ground, what the fuck was all that about?. It was like watching a documentary about beings from another planet; “and here we report live from planet Newcastle where the toonarmy species appear to be celebrating something” (said in a David Attenborough voice). What a bunch of utter numbskulls. The trouble is, this isn’t another planet, these species are the Human race. I weep for the future.

Blinded by a pile of cash to any other reality! i saw witless youths wrapped in Saudi flags. In my humble opinion, no different if youths had draped themselves with swastikas in WW2. in the past generation, the accelerated dumbing down of citizens across the world by successive governments and the all pervasive smart phones and reality TV is simply a race to the bottom. surely this capitulation to dirty money means we can’t fall much further?

Here we go!! the most deluded fans in football who think they are a massive club that should be winning trophies, i think the last was 1967 and the wont win a thing. Think that’s a bit harsh. 50,000 home gates is pretty good for an underachieving team. That’s doesn’t mean they deserve anything but can think of examples of bigger deluded bunches much closer to home.

Ha ha, absolutely. Abramovitch taking the moral high ground as one of many oligarchs who has stolen billions from his fellow countrymen. Laughable.

Slated Mike Ashley because he was exploiting Sports Direct workers on zero hour contracts but fine with this mob.

The hypocrisy is on another scale. Shearer celebrating but said nothing about Saudis atrocities towards human rights. I’m waiting for that shitehawk crisp eating big eared tosser to complain on Twitter about it as he seems to think the Uk is worse. F1 racers that complain about the UK being institutionally racist didn’t batter an eyelid when they got a race circuit so why I expect football to be any different I don’t know!

I don't see Chelsea fans getting grilled about murky Russian politics? The hypocrisy is absolutely staggering . Newcastle fans just want to go and watch their team on a Saturday (not a Sunday or a Monday) .. they didn't ask for this . They're so desperate to get rid of the abysmal Ashley but he sold it , the fans didn't.

It will be interesting to hear what some involved on the TV football side of things have to say about the human rights issues, if Shearer is happy about the takeover being a Geordie then Lineker will be incandescant with rage being a supporter of allsorts of leftist casues, not having a go per see but being consistent on things helps your cause, otherwise he'll just be accused of being an hypocrite.

Not sure it’s because of their geographical position but they’ve always struck me as very insular. In central Leeds one time a Geordie introduced me to his Wife and his Sister……there was only one woman there! When last in Newcastle went into a Barbers and asked for a Perm …..he said “Ay wundered loonley as a Clood!” Trophy dodgers no more once that money kicks in. Bit bad tho if that what it takes to win a trophy?, where do rest of clubs fit in to criteria? the original big 4 dont want other clubs to fit in. Thats why they were looking at the superleague franchise. They want to guarantee their champions league income not have to spend money to win the chance. The only good thing to come out of this take over is one of the original big 4 will end up being an also ran probably arsenal and means the chances of Leeds ever getting back up to the top 6 will be even slimmer.

One of the biggest downfalls of social media is it gives unqualified no-marks a platform to push political agendas to “sheep” followers. It’s the main reason I don’t have any presence on them. Lineker waxing lyrical about a Labour government, Prem footballers banging on about being against the vaccine, all those fuckwits making up genders for the sake of it. Love the right to freedom of speech but don’t force it down our throats.
Whilst I don’t enjoy seeing how the Saudi regime run their country , hopefully it makes for a more competitive premier league

Great piece by our Steven Chicken: www.examinerlive.co.uk/sport/football/news/newcastle-takeover-premier-league-money-21804994"All but the most pious make daily compromises on issues of animal welfare and fair trade in our clothing and our food and drink, and on environmentalism in our use of transportation and electronic entertainment. Most of us simply do not have the mental stamina to keep fighting the good fight in every aspect of our daily lives, and so expecting Newcastle fans to take a stand against that is simply asking too much ... But none of this moral prevarication makes it acceptable that the Premier League have shown an alarming weakness in not standing up against sportswashing’s gradual creep into the English game. Whether they be as important as international government or as relatively trivial as sports administration, we need our organisations to be better than we are as individuals, and make decisions that allow us all to make moral choices more easily."

So if this lot bought Town and promised to make us into a global super club winning everything available, you'd say yes, or no. Would you still watch?

No such thing as a big 6 anymore. It's a big 4 at best. Arsenal and spurs are now in the same tier as Leicester.

Well, I ask after reading all the comments about how disgraceful it is that Newcastle have been bought and I wonder of those same people would think differently if this was Town. ? So yes, it's a serious question....

It’s a no from me.
There are lines that shouldn’t be crossed. There are many problems with loads of clubs, ours included, where sponsorship deals might not sit right, but where ownership is concerned, do you want to be owned by people who in other parts of the world, might own or sponsor things that are morally unacceptable?
I appreciate the lines around morals nowadays are incredibly blurred, but I’d stop supporting Town if this were us.
