Have you never heard of Leeds,Millwall ect I'm with benhomly on this. Leeds and Millwall and others are always called out for their fans. Even back then Newcastle were held up as some sort of special fans when they were no better than rest, like benhomly the worst I've personally experienced. They probably caused more damage to our ground than any others. OK, I’m going to come out with a massive generalisation here. People from Newcastle are strange. They always strike me as odd, like something is missing. I’ve spent a fair amount of time in the city and had many a beer with their fans before and after games. I’m not saying they are thick but they are different and I never know how to take them.

I do have a specific level of irritation reserved for Newcastle fans- not Paul who posts on here though he's alright. To them the absolute nadir of their existence is the 2 times in the last 30 years they've gone down to the championship (and come right back up again spending more than anyone else in the division to do so). An embarrassing campaign in support of Saudi ownership after it fell through initially, an embarrassingly ornate campaign to get Pardew sacked, and a sense of entitlement and inflated fan identity as bad as any other team in the country. The money will cost the club its soul and I hope for a change than money buys them no success at all!

Let's not pretend that most Town fans would turn a blind eye and ignore their moral compass if it meant world class players and Prem stability every season. I'd let Fred West build me a patio of it saved me a few quid. Who says football is the beautiful game.😞 I'd be disgusted if they took Town over, not that they would. Imagine being owned by a man who murders and cuts into pieces a journalist. Hence my use of "most".

True conversation with a Newcastle fan. The last time we played them in the PL at home, there were loads in the Sportsman before the match. Pissed as fucking farts. There was one kid asleep, slumped at the bar and someone had balanced one of those huge gin glasses on the back of his head. This was about midday on a Saturday.
I asked his mate how long he’d been out and he said ‘Thursday’.

So the backer behind the Newcastle bid was found to have okayed the live dismembering of a journalist in a foreign (friendly) country. Anybody else think that the "fit and proper person test" is not fit for purpose? And that is probably just one snippet that we actually know. What on earth else goes on behind closed doors and a subdued media? If This was 1938, they would welcome Hitler as a PL club owner. At least he get the training to run on time.

In central Leeds one time a Geordie introduced me to his Wife and his Sister……there was only one woman there! When last in Newcastle went into a Barbers and asked for a Perm …..he said “Ay wundered loonley as a Clood!” Trophy dodgers no more once that money kicks in.

Amanda 'Uncle' Staveley's statement, referenced earlier, that, "Newcastle United deserve to be top of the Premier League." is a clear message, to those eejit level Toon supporters with an exaggerated sense of their historic importance, without promising anything spectacular happening soon. "Deserve" my arse.

It could be the demise of the heart and soul of another decent football club.
The background is not something they’ll be able to push under the carpet.
I dread to think what sort of songs will come out from opposition supporters. But you can guarantee it won’t be something the PL and Sky will want the TV audience to hear…

There is one God, Keegan and Shearer is his messenger.
Absolute disgrace, countries shouldn't be allowed to buy football clubs. As for the Geordies, their jubilation leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Glad I don't live up there anymore.

I think it will cost a hell of a lot more than £50 million for Derby as all tax liabilities and footballing debts carry over to the new club and have to be paid in full (if not paid up by the administrator and I doubt there’s enough cash to pay these debts!). No I don’t think they do, the administrators will strike up a deal so they only have to pay back so many pence to the pound. I’m no financial expert but Simon Jordan is and he explained it a lot better than I ever could!! 😆 They owe HMRC £20M which will have to be paid in full - they've stopped letting off football clubs with reduced amounts. Tbh I still can't get my head around the fact that they are allowed to owe that much in the first place. There are football debts to Arsenal for a player transfer and to Keogh amounting to more than £10M that have to be paid in full otherwise the club cannot stay in the EFL. There is also a loan of £12M to a finance company that is mortgaged against the ground, so any delay or default in payment loses the ground. That's just 4 debts that have to be paid that amount to £42M+. There will be other football debts to the players for loss of wages and possibly other clubs for outstanding transfer fees. It's not just the debts, it's the running costs and the fact that some of the income such as sponsorship from 32Red is being paid early to help run the club now. Plus somehow they both wanted and were allowed to increase the wage bill by around £1M per year to bring a few players in just before the deadline 🤔

Think you underestimate Town fans. Legit money I’d be ok with, but not this.

Being 67 years old and only ever supported town, the game to me has always been working class sport when you support your local team through thick and thin and do not flip flop between whatever team is flavour of the day winning trophys. When I was a kid Man Utd were my second team who I watched on TV, Charlton, Best, Law etc, but Town were always the only team I actually supported and if we played Man Utd I wanted us to stuff them. Now the sport has become the plaything of the super rich and is rapidly losing any connection to the people who it should belong to,the fans. Its now about chasing the glory to boost rich owners egos and feck the fans, the recent proposed euro super league proved that point. No way would I support or feel any real connection to a team whose new owners have the same sense of decency and human rights as Hitler.....not much change from Ashley I suppose, just more money So give me my local team owned by a group of people who actually care for the club and its fans and do the best they can despite a limited budget. So give me a Hoyle or Hodgkinson as owners who make mistakes but whose heart is with the club, fans and area.
