Hope he's as well and comfortable as can be given his condition. Like someone else said reading his stories and opinions weather you believed or agreed with him they always made great reading and debate hope he does get logged back on

It will be good to read Oti's opinions on HTAFC matters. He contributed a perspective that was different from those of most posters. Good luck to the chap. Sod that, we need more of his stories - ones like the classics of sitting on the England team bench or fighting crocodiles whilst Idi Amin and Robert Mugabe broke off from playing snakes and ladders to watch.... Each to their own in what they like. I do recall his account of an expedition as a young man on foot from Huddersfield on a broiling hot summers day, with nothing but a Jubbly for sustenance, to engage in a dalliance with two chicken sexers in Drub before they went on their night shifts. Who can forget his account of travelling in a pantechnicon with a troupe of Tajik circus contortionists and carousing with them through Central Asia?

So now he's back (Good to have you back fella), what alias was he posting under? I dont think he was posting but was lurking under the pseudonym " automatic ". Registered around the time of the ban, never posted, and contains "otium" as part of the name. I may be wrong, of course. You are wrong. But, good decision. Welcome back Oti, hope you’re keeping your spirits up as much as possible and keeping fighting.

Best Wishes and keep fighting Oti.
I don't agree with your political stance but that doesn't mean I don't have great respect for the man. I wish we could have that chinwag talking Town over a pint.
All the best fella.

From knowing who Oti is , to knowing lads who know him well , to knowing someone who has known him really well most of his life. I can honestly say that 99% of the unbelievable stories of his lifetime experiences are actually true. Many of the tales he's told on here over the years have had me in stitches , and I've said before , an autobiography would have been a best seller. A sad sad time for all who know him , and I wish him well. Can still see that big beaming smile he had on his face in Wetherspoon's after the 3-0 thrashing of Crystal Palace away in 2017... I enjoyed the time I met him in the Vulcan, good company

Dear all, thanks for all the kind words and good wishes. You all know who you are, i cannot tell you how many private messages, texts, emails and phone-calls i have had from DATM'ers wishing me well. Death approaches and i hopefully face it in the same way i have faced life, with my head held high and with stoicism. I do not fear the end, in fact in moments of great pain i will it on, but i fear being an invalid. A man as independent as i hands over reins with gritted teeth. I feel proud and secure in the knowledge i am a good and fair man despite what some on DATM may believe. I like to think my political and cultural views are borne of my great experience, how it irks to be called "small-minded" a "racist" or a "Xenophobe" when i know the complete opposite to be true....well, i cant legislate for others, i can only plough my own furrow and plead my case. As you approach the end there is a clarity of thought (at least it seems so for me) and one realises that life is love, simple pleasures, nature and about maintaining honour and integrity. My luck has been boundless, i have truly seen the globe, experienced far more than any man deserves to and enjoyed almost all of it. I have tried to live in a way that does not impact negatively on others (i even refuse to flush the toilet in the night in case it wakes neighbours!), however my simple viewpoints and political stances seem to irk the new, strange people that society produces in ever increasing numbers. Tell the truth and you never need to remember anything as the saying goes and my life has always been an open and honest book and rest assured despite the ban that will continue. I thank the Admins for rescinding the ban, a little bit of me hopes that its more than my health situation and that some common-sense prevailed in the discussion. My sense of humour is naturally dulled by my mood, the terrible pain and the morphine treatments but i shall endeavour to entertain and stimulate. Love and peace, otium.

Welcome back Oti. I look forward to reading more of the posts that delight, infuriate & entertain in equal measure.
Best of luck in the journey ahead, but one thing I remember you saying a few years back, that "the world won't miss me". There's a good few members of the world on here who will. Even those (like myself) who frequently disagreed with you & have never had the pleasure of your company IRL.
Take care pal, and I repeat - welcome back.

Genuine best wishes Oti. I don't always agree with you, it's probably quite seldom that I do to be fair. However, your ability to eloquently tell all and sundry how they are wrong and you are, of course, right is the talent of an arch agent provocateur. Some on here try and an imitate but fail to do so, in some cases spectacularly.
I know you'll keep fighting and will watch the contributions you make with a wry smile.
For the record, and not to be a hypocrite, I thought you couldn't really complain about your ban. However I am pleased you are back.

Great that you are back on here Oti. You have been missed, big time.
I really like the bravery and honesty in your first post back but I shouldn’t be surprised as you are a brave and honest poster. Sometimes, I am at polar opposites to you but you always make me think and we have agreed to disagree on lots of things without ever falling out. My friend, as someone with a hair trigger temper, that says more about you than me!
As always, my very best!

Without any doubt the most interesting and entertaining contributor to this board. I don't follow the "politics" either the stuff listed on here or the niggles by individuals against each other, so I was very surprised when Otium vanished from this site. How the hell do you get a ban from a football MB?
I'm pleased to see him return and to be reading his future contributions if he is able to make any (for a long time to come I hope!) However; this seems to be unlikely (which, like others, I am very sorry to learn) so; if you read this I wish you all the best in your crap situation Otium, and, as ever, hope the Doctors can make your life as tolerable as possible. Good luck and thanks for a lot of enjoyment when reading your contributions over the last few years.
