This guy could be up there with Steve Harper, Alex Smithies and Nico Vaesen as the best Town keeper ever. Terry Poole, David Lawson, Andy Rankin are the top 3 Town keepers imo. Nicholls, Harper, Smithies, Vaesen nowhere near as good as them. Agree with Terry Poole and David Lawson - because of the standard of opposition. I think Andy Rankin was perhaps past his best when we got him, so I would put Vaesen or Harper alongside him - might be a bit biased as Harper always seemed a very personable bloke !

What is there left to say that hasn’t been said?.
Just when you think he can’t get any better or repeat his latest outstanding save. On to the next match and he does just that.

I noticed last night.
The guy just does not stop organising.
Even when we are attacking he’s up at the half way line shouting.
Another brilliant night from him.

Even when we conceded, he was the one telling everyone to calm down and take it easy. I know keepers aren’t often made captains, but we could do worse.

Poole was a different class, I think lossl has to be there or there abouts

You know those players who you just know will make a great coach?
He's on a 2 year deal. I'd be happy with a 20 year deal.

Seen a few posters say he's not our best ever keeper, but he's certainly the best I've seen since I started attending.
So I guess my question to those posters would be, what does Nicholls need to do in your opinion to be seen as better than Lossl, Vaesen, Harper etc?

I saw a keeper tonight who walks to the edge of his area demanding that his defenders keep the right shape. No other Town keeper has ever been as dominant as Nicholls.

Lee Nicholls is clearly a late bloomer as far as goalkeepers go and will likely spend the rest of his career as a Premier League goalkeeper.
Right now there doesn't seem to be a weak point to his game. Makes everything look very easy

Looking forward to seeing Klopp’s head explode when Nicholl’s time wastes from 3 mins after taking an early lead*
*if we get through

Makes everything look very easy MK dons fans seemed to rate him but id be interested to see if he's really upped his game since - youd think he must have. I dont really get the "he didnt suit our game as much" - what the hell can their keeper do so well that cancels out such an assured good allround keeper like LN??

I think MK Dons must have the best goalkeeping scout in football. They currently have a Chelsea loanee who they are waxing lyrical about. Nicholls barely gets a mention in comparison. Most of the comparisons are to Fisher who has just usurped Hamer at Swansea Https://www.sitdownorwellstealyourclub.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7236

Brilliant again tonight from England’s number one..
Dread to think what the score would have been with an ordinary keeper in goal..
Well played lad..
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

That was an absolutely outstanding performance by Nicholls. The best I've seen from a Town goalkeeper in a long time.

Must be favourite for Player of the Season. Depends if he makes a save to win the playoff final, or whether it’s Wardy that scores the winning goal. 🤷♂️

If we don’t go up, I think we’ll be fortunate to keep him next season.
He must have several suitors now, if he didn’t already.
Outstanding!

Felt sorry for him tonight.
Let down by under performing team mates, he did not deserve to be on the losing side.
Now the most dependable keeper ( consistently) that I’ve ever seen at Town.
