Football well and truly is a TV program now. Season ticket sales will likely hit clubs after this season, fook right of sky you have ruined the game. I doubt it. People who like football live still will, especially at our level. What it does hit is likelihood of travelling away, especially midweek. I say this first hand with the red button.

In the 90's, early 00's, I used to go to maybe 10 away games a season...mostly you could just decide on the day if you were going or not, and rock up with cash. The amount of away games I've been to has gradually decreased, I went to maybe 5 in the first PL season, found the whole thing to be utterly tedious, and haven't been to an away game since, and can't really see myself going to any in future. I watched EVERY game on TV in the behind closed door season, and have watched 90% of midweek matches last couple of seasons on Sky since that became a thing.

Agreed, and that's with the poor quality of the red button offering - single camera angle and no replays. I understand the sky offering will be better in the coming season which will likely adversely impact further the level of travelling support midweek throughout the EFL

Within 7 days we'll know which games have been picked for TV up to the end of September
Before a ball is kicked (so could be anytime from now until kickoff on Friday 9th August) we'll know which games have been picked for TV up to the 3rd round of the FA Cup (weekend of 11th January)
By November 1st we'll know which games have been picked for TV between the weekend of the 3rd round of the FA Cup and the first weekend in March
Selections for games after the 1st weekend in March will be made on a 4 week rolling basis from 1st February (eg a game on the last weekend in March will be announced no later than the last weekend in February, etc)

Why does the website say ‘two of our September fixtures’ when Rotherham is August?

I was going to do a few away games this season but i am not going to bother now if most of them are going to be on TV.

Anybody else a Virgin customer and frustrated with how to get Sky Sports+?
We received an email saying that it would be provided for free as part of our package. BUT - they are only offering it via the 360 box and we have a Tivo box. My husband rung them up to see about swapping it over and didn't like the fact that we would lose everything currently recorded on our box, which meant that we would have to have had a concerted effort to watch as much stuff as we could, to avoid having to pick it all up on catch up tv.
However it got much worse. Apparently we are on a "legacy" contract (we currently pay £93 for tv, landline and broadband) and the only way we can have a 360 box is to sign up to a new 18 month contract costing £144 a month! So the "free" Sky Sports+ is going to cost us over £50 a month. My husband tried the trick of threatening to leave and nothing doing.
Looks like we won't be having it in our house then.

Cheaper just to switch to Sky then? Edit to say that I forgot about your PVR stuff on the Virgin Media box.

Give them notice now. Don’t listen to any of their shite. Leave it be. It’s 30’days notice. They will ring you within a few days. Tell them to go away you’re leaving. They will then ring you about a week before your notice is up with a proper deal. I gave up with it all years ago. Just have broadband. But last time I save 60%

T'other half deals with all this stuff. I think it's something that we'll look into in more detail when we get back from holiday.

My husband was just so shocked, and angry, after he'd been on the phone to Virgin, that we haven't really thought about the options. The only decision we've made so far is to not go with that deal.

I’m not sure if Sky still offer the Sky Q box, much like others they’re trying to push folk down the streaming route with Sky Glass and the non-dish option. The days of recording shows are dying out as the generations that were used to that are disappearing. Quite sad in some respects.

No idea what we're going to do with my aged parents when the rugby league goes on to this. They struggle with all the new technology but rugby league is my step-dad's life. We've not broached it with him yet but I sense a very difficult conversation in the next few weeks

Overseas Viewers - I enjoyed our Ifollow coverage the last couple of seasons but now that's gone it seems some of us will be lucky to catch one or two games a season on Bein Sports. I wonder if Town will have full, but much delayed, coverage on their web site?

Just get IPTV and all your worries will fade. You can watch each and every game in as much comfort as you want.
£60 a year. Plus all sport from most countries. Movies. Series.
Not entirely sure why anyone considered IFollow to be the answer.

The Sky Sports+ is just for the UK as Sky now hold all the UK EFL rights.

Not that I'd know obviously as IPTV is a bit dodgy, and I'm not I believe many subscribers advertise their wares on Ebay as well...either including a firestick or to compliment the one you already have.
