I'm getting a bit confused about how things are working so I'm hoping someone can try and explain things for me. As I've mentioned previously, we have a TiVo box with virgin so can't get Sky Sports+ without upgrading. I didn't expect to be able to watch our game against Peterborough so I was surprised to see that it was on the red button (which I thought was no more). I believe our game was a "picked" one but not for regular Sky Sports. Does this mean that the games against Rotherham and Reading will also be available on the red button, as I believe they have also been picked. We're looking at Now TV but if I can watch the games anyway, I'd rather avoid forking out for it. Sorry if I sound thick, but trying to find the most cost effective way of getting all the Town games, without having to spend every waking hour clearing our recordings. Can't answer your question but the red button you watched it on is far inferior in quality to what those watching on Sky Sports + received. The red button is worse than SD quality, it's a joke in all honesty just how bad it is. Sky Sports + is all in HD as far as I'm aware

The red button is worse than SD quality, it's a joke in all honesty just how bad it is. Sky Sports + is all in HD as far as I'm aware I found Sky Sports+ to certainly be lower quality than a regular HD feed. It was a bit like the frame rate was slightly too low, and the main camera in particular was pretty highly compressed - there was a noticeable uplift in quality when they went to the close-up / pitchside camera shots. There were a couple of times where there was a bit of a jerky motion when a few frames were dropped, and the footage froze entirely for reasonable length of time a couple of times...other people who were watching in our little group mentioned this too, so it wasn't just my connection. Watched the Leeds ๐คทโโ๏ธ game earlier and that was similar too, their main camera had compression artefacts (and a REALLY annoying little black spec of dust or something!), the other cameras were reasonable. All feels a bit rubbish having got used to watching live football (away from the red button) in 4k over the last few seasons! (the coverage of the extra time after 90minutes was perfect quality though... ๐คญ๐

Would not give sky a penny, Freeview and a Roku box does me hope they do a ITV digital, they are killing the game for the attendees.

If we are challenging at the top we may be on more than 20 times - which is a double edged sword depending if you are arranging travel and hotels etc.

If we are challenging at the top we may be on more than 20 times - which is a double edged sword depending if you are arranging travel and hotels etc. Much better notice periods with this deal... ---------------- Sky Sports and the EFL will make good on a landmark new commitment for clubs and fans which will provide longer notice periods on TV selections. The notice periods for selections are as follows: Within seven days of the 2024/25 Fixture Release selections shall be made in respect of all matches to be played before the end of September. Before the start of the season, selections shall be made in respect of all matches scheduled to be played prior to the end of the third round of the FA Cup (January 2025). By November 1, selections shall be made in respect of all matches to be played between the end of the third round proper of the FA Cup and the first weekend of March. Selections for matches scheduled after the first weekend in March will be made on a four-week rolling basis starting from February 1 (e.g. a selection for the first weekend in April will be selected in the first weekend in March). This is almost six monthโs notice provided to fans and Clubs, a significant increase on the current deal, which sees five weeks' notice given across the majority of the season. By selecting TV picks early and giving much more notice, fans will be able to plan with certainty when making travel and hotel arrangements.

I didn't expect the red button feature to be available this season so I think what I'm trying to find out is what the rationale is for a game being on the red button, rather than just on Sky Sports+

On that channel they had Wrexham v Wycombe as the game shown.

I already use this website and I agree with you - I'm confused with it all. It says Sky Sports+ for the 12.30 and 5.30 games on Saturday, but I wonder if they will also be available on the red button (which was the thing that I wasn't expecting to see this season). God, I feel old with all this - goodness knows how I'm going to explain all this to my 87 year old stepfather who has an old Sky box and would not be able to cope with the Sky box needed, but who wants to watch the rugby league which is also now on Sky Sports+

Surprisingly good of Sky to set out a timetable for when future games will be set in stone. Anyone know the same for games potentially affected by the international windows .. when will we know if, for example, the Leyton game (which I think I saw was on a potential international weekend) is going ahead?

Already contacted my provider(Richard Branson) and requested he consider a partial refund on my subscription. I reminded him its 2024 and he has huge competition for my money..๐คจ
