Burnley signed 4 year deal... Sky reporting thought they were meant to be skint! I live in Burnley and the view is that Kompany wouldn't have gone there without guarantees about money being available - I think he's after young players with potential who don't cost a fortune. The chairman is willing to back this policy. General view is that he knows who he wants and doesn't mess about - may cost a few £000s more but he gets what he wants. Hope we're not after the same players he is ...

He won’t know what has hit him when he witnesses how competitive every game in the Championship is.

Hope you're right, but I've heard 4 interviews with him on our local telly and he seems to know EXACTLY what is needed, and the type of players needed, for the Championship.

Twine, £4 million !, staggering for a third tier player. Although TBF, we sold Jordan Rhodes for double that 10 years ago & he'd only played 1 match in the 2nd tier.

I think managers get contracts that stipulate their wages and bonuses along with what responsibilities they have in regards to recruitment or selling players but I really dont believe they get any contractually binding guarantees on how much the club are going to spend on players and wages. He may know exactly what he wants in playing staff, I assume most managers do, the wants rarely meeting the actual squads outside the top few in the greedy league.

Historically it’s been quite short lived. Then everyone is expected to pour their heart out for those same clubs.

After just seeing a vid of him talking he seems even more of a posh young tory c*** than Bamford. Some might say that isn't really important and they are probably right, but I'm glad we haven't signed him!
