Isn't it simply a case of we have adequate cover in this position and letting him go releases a wage and might bring a little bit of cash in? ie It makes sense.

I got the impression the club were very unhappy he played for Spain while injured. Maybe it showed where his priorities were (as mine would if i was Spanish)

I'm sorry - have I missed something ? Everyone is posting as though he has gone - is there any evidence whatsoever that this is remotely the case ? I'm responding to bump this as It's the question I was thinking about whilst trawling back.

Liking this post because it answered the question not because I will not be disappointed to see Pipa go. Whilst he didn't have as good a second season as first, I think he is a real talent who at his best would be an asset for any top six chasing team (& possibly belongs at a higher level than that). If he goes, I hope there is a sell on.

He's very talented, when 1) he's fit 2) he's bothered Like many talented overseas players, we cannot expect them to have any loyalty to playing for a medium sized, sadly delapidated mill town in northern England. We love our home town and club, but for Pipa and others it's just a short stepping-stone on to sexier clubs, if they're good enough to progress onwards and upwards. Playing in the CL is a great attraction for someone like Pipa. I'd like him to stay, but fully understand if he moves on to try his skills and luck elsewhere whilst he has the opportunity to do so. Similar situation with Sinani.

Sorba produces more for the team so we have to live with it, he may become a better team player with time. We are going to have to work on Russells work rate but he does have talent that helps.

Both too lightweight for me as well. Watching Sorba stand still and point to his man as he runs away from him is annoying as well.

Forest rumoured to be allowing Canadian international, Richie Laryea, leave on loan. Would be a good replacement for Pipa if (as looks likely) he goes.

Remember how good Sessegnon looked at Fulham when he first broke through. Tore the Championship up whilst 4 years younger than Spence.
Moved to Spurs for £25m and played 20 times for them in 3 years.
Spence hasn’t looked as good as he did, has a questionable attitude and may be moving to the bright lights of London from Boro & Nottingham.
If he joins them it wouldn’t surprise me at all if he fell on his arse.

I wont be particularly disappointed to see Pipa leave. he looked a great signing early on, particularly going forward, but after those first 2 or 3 months its been a steady decline in how good hes looked. Not helped by injuries of course, but defensively he's gone from being 'a bit dodgy' to being pretty poor IMO and his offensive work hasn't been anywhere near as good either. Turtons a better option I think.

He's quick but his first touch is a bit Sinani

Turtons a better option I think. Turton is the only option with Sorba in front of him. Horses for courses and if we play Sorba and he plays how he does then a very hard working, defensively astute full back is a neccessity. Pipa flattered to decieve and was just another player on the pitch, regularly, that wasnt physical enough to control the game as we needed it to be. Our 'running with the ball' too often became our being pushed off the ball. Our shielding of the ball in midfield was too often stopped by mild physical contact. Im not looking for big players, just a couple more who can physically keep possesion more often.?

Get Brodie Spencer in... give him a chance. Got caught out big time with both goals v Cyprus the other week. Looks like he may need a loan before throwing him into the rigours of the Championship.
