Hard in this instance=incredibly unlikely. Much more likely that the staff adds options to the B team, looks into retraining Koroma, considers exercising break clauses in January for Harratt/Hudlin, etc. Wow hope our recruitment department don't have defeatists like you. I cordially disagreed with you even though you offered no support for your point. This comment from you is just being a total ass.

We got lucky with injuries last season for Ward and Rhodes. That was probably Ward’s longest run in a team. It isn’t something we can depend on every season.

Defeatist or realistic ? Unless we bring in a striker to be number 1 ahead of DW and JR

I know Mipo didn't work out last season but there must be loads of good young strikers knocking about in the Prem. Given our recent track record with loans, you would hope Bromby et al have a number of players they're looking at.
Cameron Archer has been mentioned on here before and looked a real handful when he played against us. Him or a Keinan Davis type would be my choice although I was told yesterday that Forest want him back.

We know Josh Koroma has it in his locker, also wonder if Kieran Phillips will step up?

arry11 Who would be willing to come to Town/on the wages we'd offer that is a clear upgrade on Ward? I volunteer that it is unlikely that such a person exists. Unlikely such a person exists.. really? I’m sure our recruitment has more analytical tools available to scout players than arry /or yourself have. Our wages, even if low compared to other championship clubs, is still a competitive wage. Players from lower league who are promising and would see us as a stepping stone and cast offs from other clubs who have shown ability. Remember Danny ward was regularly injured before he joined town. Also prospect of high quality loans from Chelsea/city etc looking to give young players minutes and would subsidise wages. Also, we could be looking at a more physical striker as an option.

Also, we could be looking at a more physical striker as an option. Whose minutes are they getting? This time last year we had a first and a third striker with our second striker having a longterm injury. Much easier to see mins available in that scenario (not to mention that Ward had come off of a poor year). Unlike now, where they look at replacing Campbell. If it is a loan I would question trying to upgrade at striker when we could use those funds to loan in players at other positions. Also, do you think Chelsea/city see a team with an established starter and backup as the best option to send someone on loan? They'll want their player to play wont they? Yeah I dont think they player you all are crying out for exists or if they do they are just as much of a punt as the (Harratt/Hudlin/Phillips). It is fine to add to that group since that'll increase the chance that one breaks through but we are not nearly the most appetizing option for strikers to go to from our league. We are much more likely to get a more expensive loanee as a winger or midfielder.

Would still like to see ya go for Ellis Simms if he is available for £500k that somebody mentioned on another thread, surely even Hoyle would pay that!

Let's get another player who is injured more than he's fit Quarantine, COVID and betting bans alps haven’t helped across the last three years. Undeniable quality if fit however. Huge ‘if’ though if recent form is anything to go by. Is this a serious shout?

He definitely fits in with what we are willing to pay, young with room to develop and think he could come in and challenge to start. Unless our recruiting can find better, I’d be happy with this.
