Boyle got sent off in his last game of the season, does that not carry over to this season meaning he'll be suspended? I wasn't aware of that. I presume the suspension will carry over? Has Nakayama got clearance?

Afternoon, Clarets fan here. As some of you have mentioned we've absolutely no idea what to expect from Burnley on Friday, and its the 1st time we've said that for over 10 years. The post-Dyche era starts and who knows how it will go? We've had a huge turnover losing most of the talent (with further departures expected this week by the sound of it). The loss of Pope/Tarks/Mee & Collins is huge. Everton want McNeil and Cornet hasn't played a minute of pre-season so we suspect he'll be off for the price of a can of coke and a bag of pork scratchings knowing our negotiating skills. Incomings have been youthful & lower league, its a gamble but at least there seems to be a strategy behind it. I reckon we're still at least 4-5 players short, and really lacking in Championship experience. Kompany- has talked well since coming in, but the change is style & formation is going to take time. Apparently we'll be playing 4-2-2-2. The one positive is that most of the squad who were getting beat every week last season have left, so they might not be in a negative mindset of a lot of relegated teams. You've got to assume its a good time to play us ( although that might apply all season). Fans are optimistic and positive, but realistic I think, which as you know, is unusual. Anyhow, good luck for the season, we're two very similar clubs and there seems to be a genuine respect between the fans of both. Thanks for your post Transpennine, it is always interesting to get the opposition view. Our board endures endless debate about our owner - what is the mood of Burnley fans about your (newish) owners?

Thanks for your post Transpennine, it is always interesting to get the opposition view. Our board endures endless debate about our owner - what is the mood of Burnley fans about your (newish) owners? The owners- crikey how long have you got? Mixed I'd say. The main issue is how they've funded to purchase of the club. I'm not a financial expert but they've taken a profitable club, mortgaged it and now the club is carrying a debt of circa £80-100m. I think the model is the same as the Glazers at United. However, our turnover is slightly less than utds! I think the whole model was based on us being in the Premier league. Relegation has meant a fire sale of all assets, some of which have been giveaways,(Pope/Collins & probably Cornet) They'll ultimately be judged by how much of the income raised (poss £70m) is re-invested and how much goes to paying off the loan. Sacking Dyche was unexpected and very unpopular and probably a panic/move of last resort to try and prevent relegation, but the damage had been done. Bringing in Kompany though has been seen as a real sign of positive intent, but they'll have to back him after selling all of our crown jewells in the summer. If we don't start well, I think it will be the owners, not Kompany that will be getting the criticism.

Is Danny doing a press conference today? Yes. Ruffels too which would suggest he'll be starting tomorrow night.

Yeah, bookies aren't the most up to date with squads etc Boyle is in the anticipated team but has a suspension rolling over from last season (it’s been mentioned on here recently). No idea who will play but probably REG.

Nichols Turton Lees Yuka Ruffells Hogg Russell Sorba anjorin koroma Ward Keeper, Boyle, REG, Kasumu, Rudoni, Mahoney, Holmes. Not a fan of Ruffels starting, I'd have Yuta left back and REG CB. I'd honestly be tempted to switch Koroma for Rudoni too. Rudoni will probably hit it less than 20 foot over the bar 😅😅

Does Yuka have international clearance yet? They said it should be sorted by Monday just gone. Not heard he's still not got it, so I'd presume so

I think Yuta will be centre back with Lees, plus Turton and Ruffels. REG didn't look great at Tranmere but he may be better with Lees alongside. I think we will play righties on the right and lefties on the left.

Boyle can't be on the bench.
Be surprised if Holmes doesn't start.
Question for me is Koroma; is this a new start with DS, or is he on his way out? Everyone else we've taken the option on has been moved on.
If he is out of the frame does Tino fit in on the left with Holmes/Rudi taking the more central running around like a nutter role? If he's in, fine, if we're going to see the best of him again and he signs up.
