I’m hoping for a great atmosphere, Fri night in front of the cameras and under the floodlights.
Let’s hope we can start the campaign with a bang and set off on a great journey…
UTT!!!

I don't think our pre season has been ideal and I don't think we have as strong a first 11 as Burnley. I'm going 0-2 and a slow start for us, picking up towards the end of the year.
I'm just wondering how many games we will sacrifice first before we bring in a capable striker.

Fuck me, half a dozen posts in and we’re already at ‘lose’ streaking ahead.
Whatever happened to blind faith & optimism? 😁😁

We've only lost twice in the league this calendar year and I expect us to carry on that run with at least a draw here.

They have too many new players, good time to play them.
Town 1 - 0 Burnley

Exactly..
They have had a massive change in personnel and football culture with the new manager..
Expect us to be more aggressive under Schofield than Carlos..
Entertaining 3-1 win..

Personally fancy Burnley to go back up, so no shame in defeat. Bookies have it close. 1-1.

Could go either way for them..
Will kompany try to play the Man City tikki takka style??
After 10 years of “ the Burnley way”..
Could be a car crash..

I will go for a draw, if we win that will be over achieving, sod it Town win, let's blow the table away, and get a automatic promotion spot.
1 - 0, a penalty that should not have been given.

High turnover of players and new head coaches at both clubs, but Burnley have to be amongst the favourites to go back up.
HTAFC 1-2 Burnley
Anjorin.

The longer we can keep that run going, even if with just draws initially, the more our confidence will grow and hopefully we settle back into the form we have shown since Christmas.

We have most of last years team available, they have new players and a new style of play. It has to be the best time to play them, a repeat of when we went to Palace and defeated De Boers new look team, a win for us.

No idea how the game will go, but I'd rather be playing Burnley at the start of the season than later on when the new players are more used to each other and the manager's new style of play.
Also, they are aren't used to winning. Turning around a losing habit is not an easy thing to do, even in a lower division. As we know!
I think it will be tight game. I'd like to think we'll win it, but I still worry where our goals will come from. I think we'll still be hard to beat though, so I suppose the obvious prediction is a draw.

Didn't he get sacked with the club on 0 points without even having scored a single goal?

Not sure if any of the players that played for them are gonna be playing on Friday but plenty of ours are. This needs to be a win, because they’ll be way better at theirs.

Of that starting XI, only Lowton, Brownhill, Westwood, and Rodriguez are still at the club. and Lowton is suspended and Westwood is injured, so no more than 2 will be playing.

I think that’s a plus for us as well to be honest, they’ve always been so well drilled, you’d expect an overhaul of their first team will mean major disruption

For this I'd go 433
Nicholls Turton Lees Pearson (if fit) looking unlikely Yuta Hogg Russell Holmes Sorba Ward Koroma.

Ruffles in for Pearson.
We're used to winning. They are used to losing. We are at home.
What could possibly go wrong?
Take our chances, come on Town!

Relegated side's first game back in the division against last season's losing playoff finalists, huge squad turnover but still big expectations. Reminds me of when we played Derby first game a few seasons ago. I'm going to go for a 2-1 town win with Burnley going ahead but running out of steam

Going for 1-1 which I would be more than happy with.

Lot of guess work but for me think will go with this.4-2-3-1/4-1-4-1 Nicholls Turton Pearson Lees Nakayama Hogg Russel Thomas Holmes Tino Ward
With the minimal pre season I’m not sure rudoni makes the side just yet, possibly go with tried and tested. Kasumu illness in the week probably also on the bench. Should Pearson be injured either direct swap reg for Pearson or ruffels in and nakayama shifts to left centre half. Thinking about it nakayama hasn’t played at all either so may see ruffels early doors.
