I'd heard similar but Town's asking price was too much for them Toupée.

Are you suggesting playing Jim Goodwin at fullback and instructing him to smash the ball as far as possible was not visionary? 😁 You're quite right. I stand corrected. 😂

That’s fair enough, but you’ve avoided the question Not many weeks ago the majority of these players got us to a Play Off Final. Are we to think that in just a few weeks they have all become bad players? I have complete faith that we will come good again and the patch where we went for them when Tino came on showed me that we still have that ability. New admin?

Missed this one as was travelling home on a wet and windy and rough ferry and just had the mobi to check how things were going and thanks to all for the updates. I had hoped for a 1-0 Town win but it wasn’t to be and the stats don’t lie and we simply didn’t deserve to win...
No shots on target is a slight worry but it will become a big worry if we repeat this at Birmingham City on Friday...
On paper I’d have taken this as a win, but the game isn’t played on paper and as someone pointed out they took a point off Luton Town so it might not be that easy...
Big game this one and hopefully three points for HTAFC !

Didn’t enjoy it but in each of the past two seasons, the first home game of the season has been against the eventual league winners (Norwich and Fulham). Wouldn’t be surprised if this isn’t a hat-trick this season.

Wouldn’t be surprised if this isn’t a hat-trick this season. It wouldn't surprise me either. Particularly if Burnley improve in the final third. Time will tell. But irrespective of Burnley's quality, that performance from Town was really poor. We looked utterly directionless and unable to compete. 0-1 flattered us. Nothing is decided after one game, and there is plenty of time to improve, but the abject nature of Town's performance was really concerning. Lots of hard work ahead of us, but a win against Birmingham - however it is achieved - will give us all a welcome confidence boost.

I am mate. A player comes in, they do well, they are hungry. The money and attention comes. The hair styles, jewellery, big car, tattoos…suddenly moves from a hard working team player to selfish player who stops improving. Time to cash in when that happens. Jon Russell transfer listed by Huddersfield Town due to recent haircut I can just hear Tog now… Leaving the field, sponsored by Clairol nice n’ easy….

Is that basically saying we now have to accept being also rans?! Thats not a dig.....but burnley had 6 debutants last night! They looked sharper, quicker, technically better, had a clear identity and pattern - with a new mgr. We simply didnt. Yes its only 1 game but lets not window dress it - we were dreadful. We go again next week...... All I am attempting to say is we should wait to see how we are set after four or five weeks as we would hope we have a very good idea on where we are likely to be this season. No team will be a good every game and hopefully we will see our true colours over the next few weeks. Hence my onto next week comment. I can accept financial constraints....every club has them to a degree, but having competed well last season and fallen slightly short i dont want us to revert to being happy finishing 10th to 16th every season. This small club mentality our owner likes to mention at times just perpetuates the myth!!!! We sold 20k plus tickets last friday - thats not small and was the 6th highest attendance over the wkd despite being on tv!!!! We arent a huge club by any means......... but the plucky little underdog tag is now wearing thinner than my hairline!

Now, more than ever, the club are going to churn it out because it's a guaranteed way of silencing any growing mass criticism - a lot of our fans are immediately appeased when they hear where we 'could have been'. I guess it's somewhat a West Yorkshire trait to be grateful and not expect too much, and the mentality is firmly embedded in how the club expects the fans to respond to its dealings. Until it's phased out - perhaps over the next generation - we will never grow any bigger. Our response to promotion was at times embarrassing. The amount of times I've read that we are naturally a League One, if not League Two, club is truly baffling. We are easily a 'worthy' Championship club, and we should start to act like one.

One of the biggest worries for me was the body language after the goal. Almost like it was expected and there was nothing to be done. The 10 minutes in the second half after the subs came on means a bit of hope. It’s that passion, rather than just the wins that gonna keep the attendance as high as it was on Friday.

The reactions after game 1 of the season against what looked a very good team are a joke, is it Posisble we could give it at least a few weeks before booing and complaining about everything. Last night I agree we were poor with what looked like weak links in the team REG - I just don’t believe he is good enough no confidence with him in the team, pretty sure Tom Lees would not be too happy playing because to him. Ruffles - again doesn’t look good enough to start every week in the championship. Koroma - I think we should get rid if at all possible he can’t do it any longer injuries have set him back too much. Holmes - first touch was awful last night, good squad player but not to start. Russell - he has the ability but he is too slow to react and wants too much time against a good side, against other teams he may look a world beater but last night Hogg was alone. However as a positive from the above I think if everyone if fully fit and available then maybe only Russell starts, LB will be Juta, CB would have been Pearson (I think we will sign someone in next week or two now on loan), RW will be Rodoni or Mahoney, CAM will be Tino who last night was our best player when he came on. We have to be careful with the new players as they are not fully upto speed and we didn’t want to use any of them for long, Kasumus injured is down to not being fully match fit and prepared for the season. I for one am still positive that we will win more games than we lose this season, that might change by the end of August but let’s hope not. You're moaning about negativity and then go on to single out REG, who ignoring the subs, was the only decent performer along with Lees 🤯

We lost 1-0 against a very well drilled promotion chasing team... it will probably look a decent result in a few weeks.
