4 days is not long enough to sort out all the issues from the game against Preston, and the 2 games before that. Its not 1 or 2 tweaks that are needed, its everything from mentality, tactics, style, substitutions, starting line up and everything else inbetween.
The big tell tale sign will be the first 30 mins, and will show whether the players are going to come out and battle for Schofield, or whether we are going to revert to type from the previous games. If Koroma is anywhere near the team sheet, then I have completely given up on Schofield. All last season he was absolutely abysmal, same in pre-season and has even managed to stand out like a sore thumb when he has played this season, which takes some doing in itself.
This really is one of those games like Preston at home last season or Stoke away the season before, where we just need to scrape a win together from anywhere. We can build on the performances over time. Today is about fighting for absolutely everything and shithousing a win. I dont want to consider what will happen if we go 1-0 down early on. I fear the crowd will turn big time. Its going to be a rocky 90 minutes, thats for sure.

You can't keep starting Ruffels in tough Championship fixtures and expect a good outcome. He wouldn't start for a quite a few league one sides

What does Rhodes have to do to start a game. Woukd be interesting to see the goals per minutes between Rhodes and Ward over the last 6 months.

Would love to be positive but I can't help sense a battering in this one.
Its 30 odd degrees and we've too many players not giving 100%.

I’m struggling though to see evidence that schofield has confidence in the clubs internal player development plan. No grant again and REG out of the squad while a clogger like Boyle on the bench. REG was a main player for Rotherham last year and I doubt boyle would have made their first 11

And just which team would you expect ? It's not an issue with the team but a lack of faith from me in the coach. I haven't seen or heard anything that tells me he is going to do a job for us. But I really hope to be proved wrong by fulltime today. |
