Talking to a lad at work this morning, he went in the Cowshed for the first time on Saturday (he's usual seat is in the KB). He said when Sorba came on there were loads of chants of "Paedo" coming from in there 🙄

I'm in two minds as to whether this sort of behaviour can be beneficial. Does it allow the player to refocus, put in more effort if they think they are failing? or does it make everything worse?
I suppose it's all down to the individual player - it would appear the modern day attitude is more akin to throwing the towel in. Given how lucrative a career in professional football is and how competition for a place in a reasonable team is increasing, you would have thought that attitude was undesirable.

How many 16 year old girls have ever thought they were 16?? When I was at school, and its a long time ago, we had 16 year old girls proudly telling all about their 20 year old plus boyfriends, one or two sporting engagement rings??? They can handle an 'older man' relationship in between doing O levels etc.. Id suggest a shedload of 16 yr old females would see Sorba as a real and gettable target, hes a footballer as well.! Maybe the younger lads still feel resentment about girls at school not taking them seriously, do things ever change?  ? I have to say when I was 18 plus you had to be very careful with girls ages, I bet that is even harder now. |

The "proof" I saw was that he suggested that someone called Elise catch an Uber.

Nothing to suggest her age.
Nothing to suggest that he knew her age.
Nothing to suggest that there was anything sexual going on.
I tend to consider that a football club has two parts. The staff, and the fan base. I admit I don't get to anywhere near as many games as I used to due to distance and other commitments, but whilst a proportion of the fan base are behaving like that towards one of our players - singling him out for pretty disgraceful abuse - it makes me not want to attend games at all. I don't feel proud to be a Town fan because by extension I'm associated with shit like that.
Absolute c**** trying to destroy someone. What are they trying to achieve?

Yeah, I remember pulling a lass in a club where the entry age was 21, not 18 or 16 like some clubs, but 21. Turned out she was on a night out for her FOURTEENTH birthday. Our Becky used to go to the Barcelona Club (Junction 27) every week, getting on the laid-on bus from Batley. She was 13!!! Only stopped when her mam and dad decided to have a blast with the youngsters and got on the Barcelona Bus, only to find her on the back seat upstairs, making out with a (much) older lad. She also claimed to have copped off with Ben Thornley around the same time, but if authorities had found out it would have been his fault and he'd have been branded a paedo. I'd be shit scared going out nowadays as a late teen/early twenties lad. |

I am just chiming in here to say that this subject concerning Sorba came up before and we were able to contain it before it got out of hand. Lets not get carried away with it and as someone pointed out become a duplicate twitter trial. Threads and posts remain, but it will only take one over zealous individual to ruin it for everyone.

A bit because he's Sorba Thomas and a bit because of the age difference. It's easy for an person to be coercive when the other person is inexperienced in adulthood, relationships, still forming their personality. Again, not implying anything illegal has happened, but for me it's muddy water to be getting into. It's one of the things where our society has changed the most on its consensus over the last few decades, which I think is why the main people being vocal about it seem to be teenagers themselves. |
