If any Town fan is free on Saturday now the Coventry game has been Called off it would be good to see some of you at the Skye Direct stadium in Golcar.
We are playing Hallam, kick off 3pm.
Some great players play for Golcar ie Dan Naidole, Dan Facey, Joe skarz Plus many more.

Had a pure fab few hours in a cracking pub in Golcar when I was down for a week for two non Saturday games in April - was called The Rising Sun, the lads were great banter, they knew ma mate from that area of Huddersfield and though he was working I left him a few beers on the tap... The bar girls were pure fab and helpful to accommodate ma request of leaving a few jugs on the tap and also knew my buddy, the pub was really good (though they all are in Huddy) and the bus run there was very nice and it looks a nice housing estate does Golcar... Interesting name is The SKYE direct stadium - Good Luck all the way from another Scottish Island (ISLAY) and Good Luck for getting a big attendance with The Town match now postponed and hope yous get a nice win and three points !

Grew up in Golcar, still not seen em play. Last time I was round there it was the field next to Beech School. Wife has covid, maybe I’ll pop over if I’m still disease free at the weekend

last time I saw golcar they played next to the cricket field...the club have progressed magnificently and deserve praise for what they've done. Where they play now used to be used for district league and sunday league games by various teams although it's all a blur now.
Is this their first game of the season in their new league ?

I love to see local clubs doing well.
I've watched Golcar a couple of times last season and it's great what they are doing. This week I'm taking a trip to marsden fc to see how they are playing.

Wife has covid, maybe I’ll pop over if I’m still disease free at the weekend Still the same location it's just been improved, quite a bit of money put in. The pitch is better than it was and they've got small standing areas now. Decent players for the level they're at, its worth a pop down. There is a club not far up Scar Lane called the Legion, got Sky Sports in there and the drinks decent value.

Wife has covid, maybe I’ll pop over if I’m still disease free at the weekend I more or less lived on that field as a kid. Headers and volleys, 3 and in, cuppies, superstars, even the odd 'proper' game when enough kids turned up. When we weren't playing football of some kind, we were razzing round on our BMXs or playing golf(!) on it. It tended to be baked hard in summer and like a swamp after a bit of rain. And then there was the dog shit to contend with...They've definitely come a long way. Great to see.

Footy in all weather and golf too. I was up there recently to see family and the facilities are much better than the clubhouse we used to have. Shame to see that Beech School is due to close soon though, lots of memories from that place. Great to see Golcar doing so well though with a good turn our each week. Will have to come and watch soon and get a Farm Shop pie!

I can still remember it being built, we must have been one of the first set of kids to go there back in ‘82

From GolcarFC's Facebook feed
FULL TIME! 2-1 - Golcar secure their first win of the season.
Goals from: Dan Naidole and Kayle Price.
We're off and running!!
Today's attendance was 432, thanks to everyone who made the journey to the game.
That win was for you!
I've been a few times, £6 in, well worth a trip when Town aren't playing 3pm on a Saturday

During the world cup we town fans should arrange a game at Golcar....meeting in Town and then a short bus ride up
The bar is open through the game, top day out......

Yes they did, and usually straight after a Town home game so many fans stayed behind to watch..
