1320 watched Greetland beat Emley 13 12 on pens Up the Villiage Jeez - Could’ve been taking penalties until ‘The Rising Sun’ if it went on much longer... 25 penalties ! - I bet some of the supporters there tonight aged by a quarter of a century with that... (What is it about Huddersfield - Town - and outwith Town - And penalties) 😊 I’d wager ma bar budget for ma impending trip to Huddersfield (quite a bit) that a certain song by a band of Animals might just be getting given it laldy in a certain pub named in inverted commas in ma first paragraph tonight ! Had a good few at a barbaqueue up the road tonight - gettin woosey now in lounge facing North and will probably wake up soon at 5am in Seat in lounge and see ‘The Rising Sun’ over Ben Lora before collapsing into ma bed up the stairs ! 😔

Greetland !!! I meant Golcar
The Golcar v Emley match last night was the 4th highest attended NCEL match since attendance records started being kept on the league website in 2005.
NCEL matches with 1,000+ attendances:
1,628 Worksop v Peniston Mar 2019 1,569 Bridlington v Scarborough Mar 2013 1,350 Garforth v Tadcaster Nov 2004 1,320 Golcar v Emley Apr 2023 1,179 Hallam v Clipstone Apr 2022 1,139 North Ferriby v Hall Road Dec 2021 1,128 Hallam v Brigg Town Dec 2021 1,082 Bridlington v Scarborough Nov 2009 1,075 Liversedge v Worksop May 2019 1,059 Brighouse v Scarborough Apr 2013 1,048 Hallam v North Ferriby Mar 2022 1,029 Hallam v Handsworth Dec 2022

Well done to Golcar getting through but it wasn't a great watch. Emley had the better footballers and had 3 big chances they somehow missed. There was a blatant handball penalty by Emley in the 2nd half which wasn't given. There are 1 or 2 Golcar fans behind the goal who are entertaining to watch when the game is shite, never seen so much anger at a game of this standard. The poor young linemen was getting some terrible abuse and I honestly didn't see him get a decision wrong.

Got home from watching the boy play their last game of the season over Ovenden way and couldn’t get the car up our road due to the amount of cars abandoned erratically on both pavements. I said to her indoors that we’d soon be able to charge folk to park up the driveway if Golcar Utd get any more successful.

A bigger crowd than Halifax got for one of their home league games this season (1,284 v. Wealdstone).

Bit poor of the official club page to link to the wrong division AND fixtures (North west counties, they play in Northern counties East....)

I believe Emley's last home game of the season is against Golcar. Hopefully Emley are already champions and no doubt will receive the trophy at this match. Should be a big crowd for it hopefully.

I had a nice Indian meal in Golcar this week while up visiting family.
Manchester road was a nightmare the lights at the bottom of Blckmoorfoot Road appears to be faulty letting only three cars at a time though at a time towards Huddersfield, we were queuing back up the road almost to Milnsbridge.

Me mum still lives in Golcar. Always makes me a little sad seeing Beech School closed when I go to see her has it closed now? makes me sad that they put a massive fence up to stop kids going on playing fields in between manor road and church school. used to play football on there every night as a kid
