He’s had bad games of course but prime Hogg was a thing of beauty which MOM highlighted, basically I love a big tackle which Hogg is the master off, anyway what a win , off to the pub , well happy UTT

Absolutely superb Hoggy. Not sure why anyone complains about his passing, he has never been about that. His role is quite simply to patrol the centre of the midfield, breaking up play and protecting the back 4.
He is getting to the end of his career and won't get any better but he is 100% a vital cog in our team.

Good to hear him getting some credit, written off by loads on here, all I know is we look a far better team when he’s in it and have done for years despite the criticism he gets from the geniuses on here.

I've seen a lot of criticism aimed in his direction but thought he was superb again today. He gives his all for the team and I salute him I think I might cry when I see him walking off the pitch for the last time.

It would be interesting to see Hogg/Bullock poll. To my mind it should be 100% to Hogg but Bullock is seen as a legend probably from being the ‘hardman’ when allowed to be a bit harder and the Brentford penalty, this is no way a slight on Bullock but I genuinely don’t think there is a contest in terms of service, impact, quality etc! I suppose I could just do the poll. Would prefer Mickey Kennedy as my hard man in midfield.

Pound for pound - over 10 years he must be rated as one of our best ever signings. Of course he’s not the player he was - but he can still do a great job as long as he has the right players around him. For sheer determination to the Town cause just look at the expression on his face during a game. If you want someone alongside you in a battle you’d pick Hogg every day.
I really hope everyone gets behind him this season, it could be his last.

In a world of player power, where you have idiots like Sancho on 375k a week, publicly trying to undermine the manager, when he’s not stepped up to the plate in 2 years.
It reminds you how rare a character of Hogg is these days.
Not the most talented but loyal, committed and irrespective of which manager he’s playing for, who he’s playing with and where we are in the league, he will give it his all for the badge.
Legend.

He has his bad games just like the rest of them but he deserves his plaudits today. He’ll rightly go down as a club legend and games like today are a big reason why, what a man Exactly. There is the odd OTT criticism and premature writing him off, but on the flipside there's those that have a hissy fit when any aspect of his game is remotely questioned. I'd hope 99% would see him as a legend regardless.

Regardless of our love or hatred of the managers who have come & gone in the Jonny Hogg era, the one thing they all agree on is the immense admiration they have for Hoggy......Really hope he stays on at Town in some capacity & so does my 8 year old grandson, another huge JH fan.

I think the thing most fans love about Hoggy is he doesnt hide. He's had some immense performances and also some downright lousy ones but he is always willing to put a shift in and doesnt "go thru the motions".

Is Hogg out of contract at the end of this season? Yes Well let's see what this season brings, but I would love to see him show enough to force another extension. He's the sort of player that when he does finally leave the building, the hole that needs to be filled will be way greater than anyone could have anticipated.

I think Hogg could become a very good manager or coach in the future. He has the passion, work ethic and knowledge to do well in the role. He’s worked under some good managers in Wagner, Robins, Corberan and Warnock (a real blend of playing and leadership styles), as well as some not so good ones such as Fotheringham and Powell which can also teach you a lot in terms of what not to do.

I'd love it if we can begin to move him into a player-coach role. That would be something I'd be putting to Hoggy and any prospective new manager for 2024/25.

His ten years service will be honoured. Surely he has already been honoured by being paid a (sometimes very) decent wage throughout this period. Without wishing to piss on anyone’s emotional chips, is it fair to say that he has taken more money out of the club than anyone over it’s entire existence? His longevity as a player is suffice for me.

It’s not compulsory, obviously, but pretty standard practice for the very few which happen.

It’s not about the money, it’s about the fans being able to show him our respect and appreciation.

[br it's crazy that out of the 16 players on the list 7 of them have been at their clubs for X-years and 66 days! I'm guessing their contracts started at the earliest opportunity at the start of a new season,if not it's a huge coincidence. Lol
